Hi, just love your videos, a great help to us although we find little compared to you - the odd coin and a few buttons and lead weights and other things so far on field so you have great land there! It's just the two of us and we call ourselves the Relics as were getting on a bit 😁. We found something that looks like a Roman coin but its a bit thicker? You mentioned getting the fibreglass cleaner on it. Is that a fibreglass pen and I presume it's safe to remove surplus crusted muck? Many thanks
@thescottishdetectorist2 жыл бұрын
Many thanks for the kind words and I’m glad you’re enjoying. Yes I bought a fibreglass cleaning pen over a year ago and still haven’t used it yet. You’ve got to use it gently and there are different heads for different coins and conditions. If you search KZbin for fibreglass coin cleaning pen I’m sure you’ll find their tutorials

Mr Kipling cakes often come in small aluminium trays which untidy picnickers discard wherever they are.

Exactly as Stephen says!! Dreaded aluminium foil wraps on cakes and the cakes are full of sugar with a shelf life of about a year… so they ain’t very good!

I don't know if you can watch it, but there's a show in the States called, "The Curse of Oak Island." In summary, it is a treasure hunt on an island in Nova Scotia. This past season, they purchased a machine that can "look through" the concretions and reveal the object encased. I'm not suggesting you save your spendables, it'd probably take a lifetime. It was impressive technology.

British Coins have been debased again, and many are now simply clad steel, and magnetic. Considering that the modern 1p and 2p coins now have less buying power than the Farthing when it was demonetized in 1960. It's only a matter of time before they are discontinued also.
