Thanks Scott. Literally every field here in Perthshire you’ve a chance of finding items as far back as 4,000 years ago! I should add…. I rarely do 😂 but that chance is what makes it interesting 🤔

Awesome goodies! That big lead disk I have heard said is the bottom of the pot of lead. Poured what they needed, then let it cool and save the leftover for the next need.

The buckle is by a company called Sword Make. I wasn't able to find very much on them other than a couple other different style of buckles that have been found. Time frame seems to be mid to late 1800s to early 1900s. I found 1 picture on the National Trust's site on a pair of knee-length breeches, and they have a buckle with the same serial number.

Yes to the new favorite program! Congrats on the Roman silver. Square copper piece looks like a cap that would go on a square tube. I can't think what a tube would have been part of; maybe a piece of furniture like a table leg.

Well, the fact that you have been detecting that particular field for over 20 years, I'd say you are still doing very good for yourself in that field. It just goes to show that no matter how many times you have gone over a specific location, there is always more to be found! The Earth slowly yields up her secrets, I guess. Well done finding two Roman Coins....Again! LOL The field just keeps on giving You need to let that land owner that he needs to set his plows a little deeper so that her brings up more stuff from Further down. To, me anyways, it is totally incredible that you keep on pulling up Roman coins, and then flattened bullets right next to the Roman item! LOL You could make a career out of just THAT field alone! It's already given up so much stuff that has put you and your friends on the detector community map! How many roman Coins has it been now from that field? 12? 15? 20? You lucky duck!

I strangely enough operated the At Pro for 8 years before I got older and wiser. I now got Nox800 and Orx. Anyway, on 14:00 I can clearly hear that he uses the program "Standard Coin" This program is hopeless. The whole machine is hopeless really but you got to go in the Pro Zero program. Full sensitivity and disc on 26 (ish). I have found lots of cool stuff with my At Pro but changing machine was like changing hobby. I can now go detect all my old fields yet again. The Nox rocks!

Omg so excited for you starting to get these beautiful roman coins brought back to life! Brilliant finds and love your videos as commentary is perfect and you consider the quality for us with the weather too 👍 Just a couple of questions about the Deep programme … do you find it uses could power quicker? Also do you think Dura is eating your hats??? 😂
@markparr7224 Жыл бұрын
There were no cartridge bullets before 1850. The "ring" in this case is called a cannelure groove, and it was used to crimp the case into, to hold the bullet in place, and seal it. That bullet looks like it was possibly for a Webley revolver. (about 1915).

Question John, 🤔 If the romans retreated back to Hadrians wall after Hadrian died, why do we still find roman coins accross the central belt, consisting of coins from the 4th century? When googled, it's the usual differing answers.Ta xx

The mic did it's job perfectly.. Oh, your 8m coin, you couldn't have dropped it a third time John, you already did it three times, your counter was out of kelter. Imagine the kinetic energy it took to flatten those bullets, Ouch!! Loved that razor part, tho to give you credit, it did look like some kind of buckle! Glad someone knew, goes to show you the truth, that many hands (mind's) make for fuller knowledge.. 🤗

I actually address the misconception of the title of Sir Arthur Conan's book "Hound of the Baskervilles" in my book "Murder Book". People assume it's more than one hound, and they assume that Baskerville is a place. It isn't. The HOUND, is one. A singular hound. The Baskervilles were people. (GREAT find by the way) love to see dogs and toads in a film.
