I once saw Shirley Muldowney race at the Houston International Raceway. My dad got us pit passes and I got to meet her in person. The reason the engines went from front to back is because Don Garlits lost a toe when his dragster blew apart. Seeing Pulse was moving. Tragic what happened there. Love the name Duxie. That's cool.

The stone statues are called " foo dogs" but they are actually guardian lions. For and Fu are Chinese words meaning Buddha. Foo dogs resemble 2 Chinese dog breeds - associated with lions: shih tzu ( lion dog) and chow chow (puffy lion dog) Known as Komainu and shishi
@margaretfox58923 жыл бұрын
Foo dogs continued - There are 2: the female who holds her paw protectively over the baby is female, yin, protector. The male with his paw over a globe representing the world is yang and protects structures
@margaretfox58923 жыл бұрын
Correcting typo spellcheck makes me actually misspell: Chinese words are fo and fu. The female lion protecting the baby represents nature and a nurturing spirit.

Gizzards are just basically the organs of the Bird so you can get them from pretty much any poultry but not always common now for health reasons, in the UK I've always known them as Giblets and we used to cook them up and feed them to the Dog as a treat. I also remember from my time in Florida visiting this swamp tour place and there being signs saying a fed Gator is a dead Gator, which may have been slightly unnerving as you could also swim there with a net between you and the Gators.

That was NOT Woody Woodpecker that was Mr. Horsepower. Mr. Horsepower is a character associated with hot rods and car culture for a very long time. I believe he was a mascot for a performance parts company originally. As a side note Nicholas Cage had this tattoo on his arm in the movie Raising Arizona.

(4:00) I actually like that you visit museums that you may not be interested in, as there may be something we're interested in! In the drag racing museum, I was drawn in by the hand lettering, designs, and antique cars! (8:52) I don't know why that reminds me of "InvestiGators". Maybe it's because both names are wordplays on "alligator"? (16:34) I won't be surprised if that sculpture was modelled after a once real set of postcards and a letter, painstakingly recreated from the original printed set likely sold in 1916.

The yard sale stuff was interesting. Do people go in there in pick things up? Weird. I swear, every time you come across a train, I turn into a 5 year old. 🤣 The post card area was very nice!! Nice to see the clam shell stage. You don't see those anymore. I could sit in that area all day. Since I live in Maryland, how hilarious it was to see a place called Maryland Chicken. I would have to add them to the list to visit. I just want to make sure that the chicken lives us to the name. We take chicken very seriously here in Maryland. 🤣 Very somber to see Pulse. I remember when that was all over the news. Still very heart wrenching to see. 🙏🏾 Thanks for another great journey Jacob!!

I agree Angela, one of the reasons Jacob is one of my favorite KZbin channels, he sure seems to point out Jesus and the crosses all along the road, he always does. Being a Christ Follower I really find that refreshing in a world where biblical Christians are being persecuted especially in our land, especially with the current administration sadly. However God is on the throne, and evil will never prevail!

They are called Fu Dogs. That is a common slang term for them. They are actually a typical Chinese architectural element , Chinese Guardian Lions. One is female and one male. Placed at the entrance to a building, the female is the yin , protecting the inhabitants, and the male is the yang, protecting the structure itself! 😊
