Oh yea, your DMS struts are likely on gravel springs. Way too stiff for snow/ice let alone low speed. I think I have a set of snow springs kicking around
@RyansRoadToRally15 күн бұрын
Thanks! It's definitely a little stiff for this terrain/temp haha. How much of a spring rate change are we talking when switching from gravel to snow springs? My first stage rally will be on snow and ice, so I'll take all the help I can get!

Nice work! Loving this series and watching your progress! You should come do the "Fastest Ride on Ice" at the Bridgestone Winter Driving School. We'll up your game and teach you how to get rid of all that understeer by using your feet and no more than a half turn of the wheel. Plus, you get to drive brand new GR Corollas, GT86's, and Supras :) Keep crushing it!

Huge tip is find someone willing to let you ride during a couple passes in the next rallycross event. (During practice). Pay attention to their throttle, braking and steering Input as well as how the place they car on the course to attack turns or low traction areas

18:20 you were understeering, I could tell that you were turning the steering wheel a lot without need, this is probably a habit that comes from dirt 2.0, in this game the front wheels seem glued to the ground lol

Always stoked to see a new upload I could be wrong, but it looked like muscle memory from Dirt Rally when you wanted to take those snowy corners. That is where the massive steering ratio is failing you no doubt. Going hand over hand for every corner of rallycross is going to destroy your arms "I can't believe you were Lamborghini drifting" cracked me up hehe

Hey Ryan, these videos are awesome and super inspiring. Having watched your other channels, and trying to employ some of the tips you put out into my own, time attack track racing channel, its awesome to see some of these be applied here! If you want to take a randoms suggestion - Using a tool like race render as a helpful overlay could make your in car racing content, esp when you get to longer stages, be more engaging is what i found on my videos. In essence (if you havent touched this yet) you export the GPS data from one or many of your recording devices, or use a dedicated device, and then you could include speed, the position on the course/track, lap time counters, g force etc up to ecu data such as rpm and throttle position. hopefully its something that helps!

I did one of the winterseries races with northwest rally association at dirt fish and it was raining a good bit. The whole course became muddy soup and I learned quickly not pushing as hard in those conditions will help overall. I was sliding everywhere because I thought more power = more fast but the grip is the key. Loving the journey! Would like to hear more about the sway bar disconnect and how that changed the car?
@NotBubZ15 күн бұрын
dude! i loved this video. you gotta give yourself some credit with that exterior hood angle. when watching from your pov, it almost looks slow! i didn't even know that other angle was there until your 3rd lap, and it was by far the coolest thing to watch on screen! you should do some cuts to that angle at some points or make it a little bigger at some points to show how fast you're ripping it. love this!

9:34 Looks like the seat brackets are set up backwards. Use the hole for the back of the seat, slot for the front of the seat. Most of your body mass is towards the back of the seat. The slots are much weaker and will bend under large compression events (i.e. jumps) the way you have them currently. Kind of an important safety item nobody really talks about.
