The libido part is so true! I stopped taking birth control because I didn't want to have sex with my boyfriend anymore. People don't realize how important is that part for a healthy relationship and how many consequences could derive from the abscence of physical interaction. I felt that something was missing in my relationship and when I chose to stop taking the pill, I started to be sexually attracted to my boyfriend again and it felt so right and beautiful to me!

I’ve been on birth control for 5ish years and I’m thinking of going off it. Everything you described being on it is me. My mom is a medical underwriter, she's done that for a living for my entire life, and when she saw me becoming weirdly emotional/depressed (not normal for my personality) she told me flat out to get off the birth control because as an underwriter she sees patterns between the meds people take and the issues they end up complaining of... women on birth control she frequently saw them become depressed or complaining about it. And of course the doctor would say that's not from the pill... but I took her advice and low and behold, depression magically went away slowly, after a few months it was gone. I'm not interested in ever taking the pill again. All set. Great video. Also wanted to mention they have fertility watches now too for another option. Which is pretty cool

I highly DO NOT recommend the copper IUD. Tried it for just 3.5 months and developed chronic headaches and insane bloating in my stomach that I am still working to get rid of till today, even after I got the copper IUD removed after the 3.5 months. While it may work for some it did not work for me so I highly encourage you to do your research and make sure to ask all the necessary questions to your practitioner prior to getting an IUD. In addition oral birth control pills gave me a bilateral pulmonary embolism (blood clots in my lungs) which almost killed me. Please be careful and cautious and know all potential risks of birth control prior to taking it, as I do feel many medical practitioners downplay the side effects of birth control and downplay the pain involved with IUD procedures.

I am so thankful to be off of those synthetic hormones though now. My mental health has improved drastically. Only thing is that getting the IUD taken out made me gain 10 lbs but I was underweight to begin with. The IUD gave me very bad acne... Cleared up quickly after I got it taken out.

And how were you coping emotionally
@rocket4444 Жыл бұрын
@@zaranoori765 For me personally I only felt relief when I got it out. My mental health improved, I experienced less brain fog, my libido went back to normal, and my acne cleared. I had Kyleena btw. The only thing is that it took my period several months to get back to normal and I get very severe cramps when I do get my period but only on the very first day. They are definitely painful if left untreated but Advil/Midol and a heating pad are all I need to knock the pain out completely. Also, post-IUD my periods got much heavier but shorter (only last 3 days on average). However I track my period with an app and the app has been extremely accurate for me and my cycle is completely back to normal now. So the biggest change that I noticed was really with my period. I honestly don’t mind the change because I prefer my body going through its natural process. Also the IUD did not fully take my period away. It just made my cycle extremely irregular. There were times when it made me get my period twice in 1 month. There were other months when I didn’t have my period at all.

As I was entering peri menopause I started to have longer and heavier periods up to 2 weeks of heavy bleeding that affected every aspect of my life. I don’t think young girls and women should be on birth control in childbearing age, it’s a terrible idea! Some people like myself really need it though
@bizcuitz Жыл бұрын
People should know more about the hormonal iud like Kyleena. It’s still hormonal yes, but the doses it releases every day are so small and they’re released exactly where the hormones are needed (in uterus) so they’re not everywhere in your body the way pills and implant are. It is painful the first 6 months but afterwards it’s great. The pain during periods increases slightly (because of foreign object in your uterus and uterus is a muscle that contracts) but the bleeding stops almost completely. No need for tampons or even panty liners. Also 5 years no hassle and it’s pretty much as effective as sterilization. It’s probably worth a shot for those who don’t want to go back to condoms and can’t rely on natural methods but don’t want the excessive side effects of the pill either.

Because I can't even enjoy food without worrying. Even because my digestion hasn't been working regularly for the past 4 years, and when it does it's during the weekly pause from the pill. Not to mention, my grandparents and my mother suffered from varicose veins and I need to get checked. Thank you so much for sharing! I was never on hormonal BC but I just wanan share my experienxe shortly with the copper IUD.. I had to take it out because it somehow irritated my uterus and my periods became sooo heavy literally to the point where it was uncontrollable and I couldn‘t leave the house for too long. And I had anemia twice during this time and had to get extremely expensive iron transfusions. I‘m sure it had to to with the heavy bleeding because I didn‘t have it since. So then my boyfriend and I spoke to a professional and had to find out that hormonal BC is defenitely NO option. It was scary to see the graphs she showed of how the normal hormonal distribution in a woman is, compared to on birth control. So we are just back to using condoms and it‘s fine for us but I think I wanna learn more about my natural cycle, so that we don‘t rely on condoms all the time. On the other hand the copper IUD works well for my friend, so different experiences for different bodys!

I've been on the pill for almost 17 years after i had my son. I didn't want to go on it due to possible weight gain. I developed multiple chronic health issues around the time i started birth control. I was terrified to go off of it because i had such a hard pregnancy but since I'm married now and have gained weight over the years im just trying anything to see if it helps with some of my symptoms. It's been two weeks since i finished my pack. So far I've had more frequent mild headaches and lower stomach cramps the last 3 days. I'm not sure if these are from my horimones trying to adjust or just my chronic health issues. I haven't had sex since off but i plan to use vcf gel and try to track my cycles when it starts to regulate. I tried to get Phexxi but my insurance denied it. My periods were infrequent but extremely light while on the pill and before so at 36 i have no idea what to expect but i guess i will find out. Hopefully things improve for me. Thanks for sharing about my way. I will definitely be looking into that to ease my mind.

I wish I could track my ovulation on my own but I’ve been on birth control for 10 years so I’d be completely lost. I never had a regular cycle ☹️ stresses me out

What is your solution for pregnancy prevention with no birth control? I personally don’t prefer the way condoms feel. Do you take your temperature every morning? And do you take ovulation tests? If you do take those tests do you typically avoid sex within a certain timeframe before and after menstrual flow?

I just started the Zafemy patch on Sunday and Monday was the hardest day for me, I was throwing up and had a headache this wouldn’t go away until yesterday. Didn’t have a heavy appetite at first but now I feel like everything is starting to go back to normal. I’m hoping it helps my acne and cyst ruptures but I’m also a little nervous to see how this affects my body and mind. 😅

How long were you all off the pill when noticing these benefits? I stopped for 2 months to see if anything would change, and when it didn’t, I went back on

Rebalancing your hormone s after being on a birth control pill takes longer than two Months . Even longer depending on how long you’ve been on it

Weight loss? I've gained over 40 lbs in two years, my mental and emotional state are worse than ever before to the point of wanting to take my life and I even have acne on both of my arms something I didn't get while I was a teenager

I am actually the opposite. I never used birth control (except once) and am finally able to start with the hopes it'll stop the excruciating pain I get on my periods. I tried the Depo shot once and it destroyed me and I became a completely different person that I did not recognize. I want to try again though so I went to a different doctor and finally have something new.

The acne part. I’ve been off of birth control twice for long periods of time, the first being the pill and my skin was at its best. The second time when I had my IUD removed (a year and a month ago), my skin has been at it’s worst. The most painful hormonal acne along my jaw and cheeks. A lot better now than how it was in the last 8 months, but still bad. Trying to push through it 🥲
