Dang. Tom, you da man! That fricken heat saps us & the batteries. You provided me with a wealth of info & insight. My wife & I have these bikes & will probably never do a 45+ mile ride anymore. We've ridden ebikes for 8 yrs & mostly on canal towpath trails, which are at times less than ideal. But at 72 yrs of age, our rides now are 20-30 miles round trip. We live .5 miles from a State park, where we ride daily. Looking forward to the rest of your tests on this bike. You, my friend, have provided the absolute best review on KZbin for this bike. I have many Senior citizens where we live who are interested in our bikes. I need an extra battery for all the in-person reviews I'm doing in our community just to keep up with it. (Engwe, please?) Thank you, thank you for your expertise & willingness to properly give a comprehensive review of an ebike. Stellar Engwe L20 2.0 review! 🏆 ✨️

Thank you so much! 20-30 miles is still a lot haha. Glad you both ride daily. And that’s awesome you have a place to ride close to home. These bikes have definitely given me a reason to get out in the morning before it heats up during the day. I’m sure there are lots of folks interested in your bikes. These things are great for getting people moving, plus they are lots of fun. I follow Old MrKent on KZbin here in Arizona. He’s 82 and rides his e-bike pretty much daily and tells stories while he does it. These things are a great way to get people out of the house and enjoying the outdoors.

Great video. Waiting to see how South Mountain treats you. Great machine for the cardio. And for the great outdoors. Stay safe out there. And you got the gadgets.

Thank you! It was an excellent ride! Definitely a great way to spend the early morning hours on a Sunday. I’m uploading the video so it should be live tomorrow evening 😎.

Great review!! Did you ever get the throttle-only test done for this bike?
@tomsgadgetgarageАй бұрын
Thank you! I unfortunately haven’t. I estimate that it would likely get in the 30-36 mile range with throttle only. I tested the Lectric XP 3.0 in throttle only and if I recall correctly, I was able to get about 35 miles of range.

thank you for the review. I am thinking about getting one of this. I am looking at the battery, which is at a vertical position. Is the electrical connection point on the bottom of the battery where it is close to the ground? Or is it on topaway from the ground. I am concerned about water splashing the battery where the connection is.
@tomsgadgetgarageАй бұрын
Hello! The connection point is at the bottom which is pretty common. The rear fender does a good job of keeping water from the rear tire from splashing forward. But if you are riding around in rainy conditions I can see how it could be possible for water to slide down the battery into the battery tray. If you don’t plan on removing the battery frequently, you can wrap some water resistant tape around the base of the battery where it connects to the bike.

other reviewers report a delay of motor assist when pedaling
@tomsgadgetgarageАй бұрын
Yup, there’s is a delay with the Pedal Assist. Most cadence sensor bikes have a delay when pedaling. Some allow you to adjust the delay a bit. I cover it in my first impressions video at the 19:02 mark and then demonstrate it 19:43. What was your pedal assist level in all ride
@tomsgadgetgarage3 ай бұрын
I was in PAS 3 for ~90% of the ride. The first 10% or so I was in PAS 2.

I appreciate the vid but I'm in Western North Carolina. Lots of hills and some flats like you have. This doesn't give me a real review. Maybe cut your miles in half? Not sure, guess I'll do a range test on mine. Only had a couple days now
@tomsgadgetgarageАй бұрын
Thanks! This video may be a better representation of how hills impact range. I ride up and down a mountain in this one. Engwe L20 2.0 Hill Climb Test kzbin.info/www/bejne/mWPQZ2WvbKydkKc

@tomsgadgetgarage Great!, thanks!

I'm disappointed. Although 49 miles is amazing, it's far off from the 80 they advertised. 😡 I'm sure you could have gone much farther using less pedal assist and on 100% flat ground. But you still wouldn't have been able to achieve 80 miles. Maybe 60-65.
@tomsgadgetgarage6 ай бұрын
Yah that 80 mile figure is high. In PAS 1 with a rider 40lbs lighter than me in the most ideal of conditions, you’d likely be able to get closer. More companies need to post real world range figures as most folks will be riding in PAS 2 or PAS 3. Anytime I see theoretical ranges posted, I assume 50-60% as a baseline for real world to test against. I contemplated testing in PAS 1, but that would be a mind numbing experience and I’d need a half gallon of sunscreen and a couple of 5 gallon water jugs in tow haha.
