I don't care what anyone says about Eminem. He is a role model. 1)I've been here, I've lost so much and tried to hide away and escape from everything. And this song makes me want to cry no matter how many times I hear it. In sharing his pain he make people feel like they aren't alone. There is someone who understands AND has recovered... 2) He's 11 years sober and has matured and learned so much. 2)He's always honest and he's humble. 3) Many people don't understand that Slim Shady is a satirical character. Shady is a vehicle for him to comment on society and on the way other people assume him to be. Satire is supposed to be over the top and ridiculous and Slim is always used for a _purpose._ Just like politics caricatures or the animals in animals farm. 4) the man is a talented writer. He is absolutely brilliant at communicating his thoughts in a unique and skillful manner. 5) He is always owning up to and learning from his mistakes. But still not apologizing for being himself or accepting the fact that people misunderstand him and jump to label him harshly. 6) he's a loyal friend and a good father. So, no. I'm not saying you should take any of Marshall's satire and figurative words and use them as a model literally. I'm saying that if you look deeper and consider Eminem as a person and consider his talent and his _underlying_ messages, he is someone to look up to and respect. Despite his other numerous shortcomings(that at least he owns up to).
