Maybe, instead of a lame audio clip of a projector sound, you could tell us ABOUT the clip with a voice over? Maybe why it was never shown? Maybe something about how it was uncovered? Maybe a bit about why you choose to show it? That audio was far too distracting. If you don't do a voice over, just play the clip.

There's no audio except for the projector sound, so there is no reason for you to nut simply turn off your sound...

I'll add to that that there is no reason to add sound so just don't add a lame audio clip that does absolutely nothing to improve the viewing experience. Most likely, since it was never shown publicly, the footage never had commentary added. As for adding it now, apart from eliminating the old school projector sound, perhaps the provider felt that the footage shows daily life, under what had to be surreal circumstances, without the inevitable political debate.

Yes I know the clip did not have commentary from the time it was shot, but why not add commentary now? "This is a clip from the early seventies showing how life goes on in Belfast despite the heavy presence of troops. The clip might have been intended as a part of a longer presentation and simply left on the cutting room floor, so to speak [in which case they might present evidence]. This clip was not shown simply because the government [or whoever makes these decisions] did not want draw attention to the fact that [some reason]. It's interesting to note how the soldiers [do this thing or act this way]." Now, isn't that more interesting than "Clack, clack, clack, clack, click, clack, click, clack ..."?
