Footage of people at a mall in St. Louis, Missouri buying tickets at a local movie theater.
This should be the first weekend of January:
www.boxofficemojo.com/weekend...
Interestingly, no one is going to see Home Alone even though it was the #1 movie that weekend.
The top movies here seem to be Kindergarten Cop, Dances with Wolves and The Godfather Part III.

Blockbuster Video had just invaded my town in 1990. This was the year of a huge expansion. I remember being momentarily confused about the movies being on the shelf, whereas the other video stores I knew had the boxes on the shelves and a clerk would get the tape from the back.

Yeah the difference between the early 90s and the late 90s is almost like night and day. As you say, the early 90s still had a lot of 80s influence and seem more primitive compared to today, but the late 90s still come across as fairly modern, just minus the craziness of current times. Both periods were great, imo, and I'd love to go back to either one of them.

Such nostalgic videos! Something so innocent pre internet days. No background feeling that a shooting, protest or disrespectful youth recording themselves doing a TikTok challenge. Nobody zombified out on cell phones while waiting in line. It's almost like you had to have a conversation with people. Lol All I can say is I'm glad I was raised in the '80s and '90s.. I feel so bad for the youth today.😢 Of course they don't know any different so I guess it doesn't matter. 😕

I do them for friends of mine, mostly. One of whom is blind. A few others who don't see well either. But mostly people who like to listen to stuff while they work or do chores or exercise or whatever. Basically I just make stuff for handicapped people and put it online where no one ever listens to it. But the people who do the voices get to use it all as demos to get paying jobs or whatever. I don't have delusions of millions of people listening. I have my reasons for it, and that's good enough.

In a way this is all kinda cute and cool. But I am kinda glad that we are past and done with all of this. Now we can do this all easily within VR and enjoy movies with close friends without having to go outside, wait in line, and spend any money... The theatre comes to you and your friends in a VR world/scene/server and movies can be anything of any taste or genre, not just some lineup that is seasonal to which ever time.

You have missed the point completely….and if you think that is better, well, then there is no point in explaining it.
