Such amazing views from up there... uninterrupted as well! I think £28 (with discount code), is good value as you're not time restricted like Battersea, and you can stay up there and just enjoy the experience and/or watch the weather come through even. The bar is a bonus, although the prices are definitely up there. Thanks so much Hannah, and appreciate you having to pay out of your own pocket as well, so hope this little bit helps ☺

This tour is realy wonderful, and having you to show us everything and also commenting, it gets even better! The Shard building is really amazing. I can image how beautiful it must be to see all those New Year's fireworks from the inside of it. Wow, how courageous you are Hannah! You really became into a heights' person, first was the 109 lift of Battersea Station, and after the glass floor inside the Tower Bridge and now the Shard. I am loving a lot all your tours around the city. All your video takes are amazing! Thanks again!

I am from Italy, I saw that building under construction in 2011 with a huge construction site. Then I returned to London in 2013 and saw The Shard completed, so I decided to visit it and hike up to that same scenic area. In 2013 it was considered the tallest building in Europe and the view from up there was spectacular. Fond memories of London, perhaps the most vibrant and extraordinary city in Europe.

Wow that’s quite a statement! When I visited Europe in 1997 London was my least favorite city of 13 countries. But I see I was wrong and I should visit again it is pretty dazzling!

That is the BEST time to visit the Shard - Sunday morning! Not only is there NO line, it is also the best time to take a taxi in that part of London - hardly any traffic. It is included if you buy a London Pass for your visit.
@barrycoppock Жыл бұрын
Yes, I found the upper, open to the elements, better for viewing as generally fewer people there, and makes photography easier. Booking in advance makes the cost justifiable. As I mentioned in your Tower Bridge vlog, for the photographer who wishes to capture different times of the day and year, the annual pass is a bargain. Visit any number of times without having to book. Three visits and you are in 'profit'. My seven visits in the twelve month period came out cheap per visit.

Thank you so much for this video! We did go there, some years ago now, and just had coffee in the Oblix (well worth it!) I honestly don't think I'd have the nerve to go up that far. I also hate lifts, and remember how fast it was. Two weeks later, the Queen visited, and i said to my husband, "I bet she wasn't sick in the lift!" The Sky Garden is fabulous, it's amazing that it's free, so I'm looking forward to that video. I've managed to book tea at the Ritz in March, which I'm very excited about, as I've never been, so can't wait to see that video, too. Keep them coming Hannah, they're lovely to watch!

Hi Hannah. I messaged you before about the Shard. When we went, it was £25. And the photo to get after, on your way down, is another £25, if you wanted it. That... is stupid expensive. I would say it is far better value that the London Eye, as you can stay up there for ages. Take food up, relax. That bar wasn't there when we went so that's a great addition. I still think £28-£32 is a lot... for a view. Not sure what it would be for a family of four, but I suspect it would get close to £100. Plus cost of a train ticket. One pricey day! But... I agree, it is quite the view. I recall our view was almost a clear day. Def remember seeing Wembley, and a police chopper 'stop' outside the building, open the doors and wave to us. That was special. The Monument - I did that myself some years ago. Worth it. Not expensive. Quite a tight it as you go up. Not for those who dislike confined spaces. But you get a nice view up there. I think in Spring I will be down there... and going to the Sky Garden, so def looking forward to your little tour. Hannah... for me that will almost be like watching you give me a personal tour! haha. As I really wana go there. Oh... and in Spring... look up the Pheonix Gardens. I think Emilia Clarke is familiar with it..... Best wishes from sunny Lincolnshire.

Thank you, thank you! SO that settles it for me, I'm definitely going to hit up the Shard on my next trip (weather permitting of course). I love that you can spend as much time as you like, which makes sense for that rather steep entrance fee. Didn't Battersea only pop you up top for a view of a few minutes? Knowing you can get your time's worth is smart, and I do love a cheeky bar to nab a drink and enjoy the views. (And now I wonder if there should be a drinking game of every time someone drops their glass? LOL!). Thanks again and looking forward to Sky Garden next. ❤

Hi Hannah, I'm delighted you went up The Shard , the views are amazing but that bar was not always there. When they first opened The Shard there was no bar and only 1 restaurant, Oblix , I took my father to Oblix for an evening meal there on our first visit in 2013 now there are 6 restaurants there . Now after watching your excellent vlog I might have to go back up to The Shard again 👍
