FYI, I googled "clear glass balls" and the first thing to pop up was a seller on Walmart's online selling a 2000 pack of what I think are the little glass balls that you find in spraypaint cans, for $9. You can also get glass marbles and 'flat marbles' by the pound if you go looking for the decorative items that you fill vases and bowls with. And I personally would have tried to find a pourable silicone first, or maybe heavy duty polyurea truck bed coating. Might have to layer in something like the coating to get it to dry though. Could even pack it with sand, though you'd need an actual container to hold it.

Crushed ceramic chunks about 0.25-0.5" diameter, mixed into rhino liner (mostly as a binder/self healing medium), poured over 0.5" AR500 to a depth of about 1" of mixture. This should give a 1.5" plate thickness. Go as big/fast as you can.

Try using fiber tape that you’ll find in the drywall section wrapped in some floor tile hexagon and try using Bondo in place of epoxy or even silicon, I think it would be interesting to see the differences because I don’t think the silicone will blow apart. And I wonder the difference between Bondo and epoxy.
@TheTileGuys7 ай бұрын
Or instead of the tile, just try swapping the epoxy for Bondo. Or the epoxy for silicone.

There are ceramic balls that are used as fragmentation in munitions designed to cut down on collateral damage that would be interesting to try. They can sometimes be just picked up on test ranges and I’d expect that they or a very similar product would be available on eBay or Amazon. They’re considerably lighter than glass and probably more effective if you wanted to try them. Great work as always guys!

Reminds me of the ceramic balls the Soviets used to put into the steel of their tank turrets to help defeat Monroe effect weapons.
