Really enjoyed watching this video . I live in Northern Ontario Canada . We are surrounded by massive forests so during spring/summer its Green everywhere . In my opinion , the people that designed the hotels in Singapore did an amazing job , it looks so green , so "lush " and if it does everything it supposed to do , its a win win situation for wildlife and humans . Thanks for making this video and showing the rest of the world whats going on and how to do it .

Sigh. I really want to pursue this type of architecture. I’ll be a freshman next school year but I don’t think I could only apply for Bachelor of science in architecture. My only question is how expensive is it to make a green building and to sustain it compared to a beautiful concrete building that you don’t have to sustain. I hope we keep finding cheaper ways to expand on this sustainable architecture. America hopefully starts in this direction soon.

I love the look of both the park royal hotel and the oasia hotel - The former for the density of its greenery and the latter for how its plant life looks as it coils around the structure. Personally, although I'm opposed to the use of concrete, i'd have to settle on the park royal hotel as my favourite due to the way it resembles a vertical tiered forest, and that its plant life seems to have taken to it more readily without looking out of place or overbearing. Whilst the oasia hotel looks amazing and seems to best showcase a merger of manmade material and nature, it looks a little sparse - Though i suppose the sheer size of the building itself might play a part in this. If I were to do something like this myself, i'd want to merge the styles of both structures, to almost hide my structure under vines, bushes and trees, and maybe add some fruiting plants if I'm able. I think that both of them demonstrate the growth of vines most effectively out of all of these projects, which is something i'd want to mimic; The idea of introducing vines without them getting out of hand seems very attractive to me, as though they live with the structure symbiotically. A balance that has a give and take, with neither side being harmed in the process. I wonder if grape vines would be able to achieve a similar wild appearance, and run rampant over a building?

Green building do not need LEED certification. Green buildings are buildings that designed utilizing strategies that promote wellness and net positive that contribute to the sustainability to the urban fabric. We should not design just to meet a certain certification for awards but to design to make our city greener.

a lot of these ideas are just concept-stage and barely scrape the surface. They are being promoted by people who dont really understand the science involved. Some real-world highly useful options include solvent-free paints eg Lakeland Paints - which are solvent-free, VOC-free, Non-toxic and actually edible ! Surely, paint solvent is a tiny concern you might think ?? Not at all - paint emitted 24 MILLION tons of greenhouse-gas solvents into the atmosphere last year and every year (WHO 180 et al) - and these solvents are on average 20-50x worse than CO2. So - if you really want to do something to help counter global warming you could do a lot worse than switch to one of the VOC-Free paints out there.

Seems like NOONE of those people care about sustainability of environment for terrestrial wild animals and terrestial insects and other animal species... This ECO-friendly environment should NOT BE only friendly for humans and some animals like Birds that have advantage of wings and can reach the greens, or Fish and marines (which is great actually) BUT what about all the wolves, pigs, cows, bears, deer's, boars, rabbits, turtles and turtoises, elephants, giraffes, beetles that cant fly, earth worms and other crawlies, and many many many billions of other species... Future must start thinking of preserving the SOIL and NTURE on the Ground for the terrestial animals and Pets too.
