Growing up doing this kinda of stuff it’s cool to see a guy who has influenced the sport so much, be a student of the sport.

Hell yes, welcome to my world. There’s so many things to land a fish in that river and don’t worry usually it’s one fish for every four hook ups after he ripped the line for 15 minutes, the hook hole gets pretty big, normally falls right out at your feet. Hopefully he’s in the net or on land when that happens some days you can’t land them because of how they feel when you feel that from the steelhead and salmon, you’ll be hooked for life

When I was a young man we used to drive the shoreline of Lake Ontario and hit all the creeks that fed the lake. After we fished this area we would hit them all on the way home. Good times.

Once you hook up on a steelhead on the swing or downstream, walk and keep on walkin... once they gain down yards theyre impossible 😅 always easier to net them if you get below and let the current push em in the net and have your drag looser. you guys must have had a good fly setup because you had good action. Great job hookin up!

I don’t know why he has you chasing the fish like that into them rapids down below I fish that spot all the time I never chase them into the fast water land em where you stand
@shad312810 ай бұрын
Trout basics on the fly are not to let the fish get below you. Always get below the fish and keep some side pressure and get low on the scoop. This was taught back in books from the Catskill and Adirondack fly fishing. If you stay still and just horse them in you are lucky, have really strong tippet and leader for much larger fish, or just don't wanna walk and take pressure off the fish which is good for them for healthy release anyway.
