[Intro] Indestructible On this rock, I lie, but I'm alive for good And I just free myself now from all what was wrong Break the unbreakable [Verse 1] All the stars fearlessly bright They call me out there, order me to face the wind My structure's alive, body's on the way Don't bow down before the walls Of fear and madness, they try to counter me And strike me down to the ground again [Verse 2] Inexhaustible The strength of fire is running through me Spine-like beam of light What mortal could ever break this force? Unconstrained I see at last my backbone straighten Thy serpent made of bones Finally rise up from the ground awaken [Outro] Beat your feet on the ground now, go

The fact that Mario doesn't use triggers on his kicks with this music is absolutely incredible. Especially since he just uses straight kicks for all his fast work. Not double strokes, heel toe, swivel, etc. The dude is a machine.
@pauldesmet87373 жыл бұрын
He always uses triggers. Check out his equipment on equipboard or Wikipedia. But he certainly kicks very hard :-) as you can see in some drum cams
@jez_77 Жыл бұрын
@@pauldesmet8737 He uses triggers mixed with microphones, but for kick drums only. He says that not for every venue tho, depends where they play
@R49_Complete Жыл бұрын
@@jez_77 Every drummer in a large metal band no matter how much they deny it, uses software and triggers to some extent. Metal has gotten way too loud, staccato, and way too compressed for drummers to contistently kick with max-power on every bass note for 9 month to year-long tours at this point.
@gg-joe.888925 күн бұрын
He uses trigger for kick but nothing else. He needs to use it for kick just because of how fast he plays

*Backbone* *The protagonist flies to “Sirius” where the ‘master race’ teaches him to restore life on the planet. (Possibly Earth or Mars)* *[Intro]* Indestructible On this rock, I lie, but I'm alive for good And I just free myself for now from all what was wrong Break the unbreakable *[Verse 1]* All the stars fearlessly bright They call me out there, order me to face the wind My structure's alive, body's on the way Don't bow down before the walls Of fear and madness, they try to counter me And strike me down to the ground again *This is the “Call to Adventure” for our hero as he realizes his quest in that he has to save a planet from certain fate.* *[Verse 2]* Inexhaustible The strength of fire is running through me Spine-like beam of light What mortal could ever break this force? Unconstrained I see at last my backbone straighten Thy serpent made of bones Finally rise up from the ground awaken *Indeed, a human spine (or backbone) does resemble a snake.* *These parallels between spines and snakes is referenced again in their next album on the track “Oroborus.”* *Crawling stately* *Along the spine* *It could also be a reference to the Kundalini enlightenment where it is believed that a serpent like force travels through the spine through all the chakras and exits through the Apex chakra just above the head.* *[Outro]* Beat your feet on the ground now, go *Beat your feet to the ground is like a primitive calling to adventure, a rallying call for change, just like the Protagonist.*

Opeth will be releasing their new album in both English and Swedish versions. This made me wonder... how awesome it would be for Gojira to record a few songs in French! I would not understand a thing, but the concept seems quite appealing.
@DjoZzef5 жыл бұрын
Not really, swedish is a pretty language to hear when sung. Not french. I'm french, i can tell. But you can find a bit of french in Gojira's discography here and there. On the song Low Lands for example if we speak about Magma, and more on the album Terra Incognita.
@TransparentBarriers4 жыл бұрын
@@DjoZzef Of course it is nice to hear french in music. But not in Metal. Or at least, it's okay with extreme metal, because we can't tell what it is said.

You have to understand this is not a metal festival, it's not even a rock festival. You could hear pop, rap, electro. I guess the crowd is more or less shocked by the performance
@mathisfelix3123 жыл бұрын
I was in the crowd this night, Gojira was the only metal band of the festival (other groups are electro, pop, rock), it was 2AM, I had personally booked the day just to see Gojira but you have to keep in mind that it wasn't the case for most of the people there and still 50k stayed because they were simply curious (Joe said he was actually surprised and appreciated a lot that the crowd was still so big to listen). I love headbanging etc but it's not because a crowd doesn't move that it doesn't like the sound, people were trying to truly listen to the music and feel it (for those not fond of metal). Check Hellfest if you want to see a French crowd of metal fans.

@josephbaylus The Vieilles Charrues Festival is not even a metal festival, so most of them weren't prepared for Gojira's epic heaviness.
@josephbaylus13 жыл бұрын
Everyone keeps talking about how dead the crowd is for all of the Gojira videos from this festival. That's the key word here folks, FESTIVAL. They were one of the acts in the middle of the day on the third day of a four day festival. Those people are exhausted, dehydrated, hungover, malnourished and are still there to support all of the acts. I would be right there with you if this was just a Gojira show, but I'll cut them some slack since it was a four day mindfuck of metal excellance.
