The last section of the song is amazing. The way its designed the vocalist has the freedom to insert the vocals when he wants because the rest of the band is essentially looping over and over. At the end he motions to the drummer to end the song. At this point the control is with the drummer. The filler the drummer adds at the end signals to the other band members the timing to stop.

This version is so much better than the studio version. The bit in the ambient interlude at 5:10 with Joe screaming along with the droning tremolo picked guitar and cymbal swells is just so much more bone-chilling and ominous than the build up to the outro on the album. It evokes the emotions of terror and awe that one would probably experience in witnessing some kind of lovecraftian behemoth rising from underneath the waves of the ocean (which is fitting considering, you know, they are called Gojira).

I remember in 2012 when they first played in Australia for Soundwave festival, In Adelaide they had a signing tent I didn't know about. I was inconspicuously walking passed, dressed in my Chris Fehn #3 jumpsuit and mask, when I noticed in excitement and eagerness to come face to face (sort of) with my favorite band. Possessed, I ran toward them (there was no line) I jumped and screamed with love and admiration, reaching over the signing table and hugging and laughing with them as I got to my hands and knees and bowed in a tongue in cheek manner. They equally met my energy and laughed and smiled as I shook their hands and hugged them telling them how appreciative I am of their music. 9 years later I can safely say that nothing has changed. Gojira, something truly profound and meaningful about your music impacts me whenever I listen to it. Thank you for existing in my lifetime, thank you for your hard work and creativity. The double bass is hypnotic, I use this when mediating... Usually after every metal song you feel super energetic. But gojira is enlightening. I can't explain what this band is anymore... I freeze up watching them play at concerts, I don't wanna headbang just listen to the incredible masterpiece

That very day Rock music bent his knee on front of new masters... Am I the only one watching this frenetically and liking every comment ? I don’t think so. Thank you so much for this Gojira, I listen to Rock and Metal music for 30 years and nothing can compare to this. You really opened a gate to (our personal) Hell that evening , and that’s what Rock is all about. Thanks for summoning these monsters we are.
