I loved this cover, most covers the bass is too loud, your was just the right amount, more distinct but still with the audio track. I remember seeing Gojira live back in 2018, and was blown away, they had inflatable whales pop up behind the stage whenever the whale noises played, I never listened to them before and was an instant fan, I ended up listening to Gojira, Ultra Vomit and Limp Bizkit all for the first time live, some bands like Gojira and Ultra Vomit for the first time, my main point is this cover brought back those memories, keep up the awesome work.

I have a question. Might be dumb but it is on theory. By the time you reach measure 121, Joe and Christian are playing inverted power chords but the bass is playing the 5ths rather than the root which are on the guitar's 5th string and not their low 6th string. Why does Jean-Michel play the low 5th instead of the root note of the guitars' power chords? I noticed he does this too on "Explosia". Other bands like Cattle Decapitation will have the bass play the root note when guitarist Josh Elmore is playing inverted power chords. Am I missing something here? Thanks

@Vykuu 6 жыл бұрын
To me the guitars are playing regular power chords on this part, and the bass is playing the same regular low root. But I see what you mean, and on those cases my guess is that you can choose which note of the chord you want to emphasize with the bass. This instrument is not condemned to always playing root notes ! It changes the "taste" of the riff, though, but can be useful to give a chord progression a certain feel.

May I ask you why you preferred Drop C? I watched the Bloodstock 2016 performance and Jean-Michel plays it in D Standard.
@Vykuu
@Vykuu 2 жыл бұрын
I thought it sounded better to hit the low C in the intro. There's never a lower note than D in the rest of the song so I guess he plays this part differently ?
