For me Magma is by far their worst album. Its like they had 0 inspiration for that album. All the exciting and innovative riffs from earlier albums are gone. Their best albums are From Mars To Sirius, Terra Incognita and The Way Of All Flesh.

PartialViewmusic - When the things that influence musicians (and ultimately the way they compose) change, it's natural that their music changes with them. That's not always a bad thing, especially when it doesn't make the band lose it's identity. The riffs, the heaviness, the tightness, the melodic parts, they're all there. Myself, I enjoyed discovering this "side" of Gojira and if nothing else, it made me go back and listen to the rest of the albums with different ears. : )

I would argue better live. The lack of digital effects on Joe’s voice really makes it feel more emotional. Mario’s fills even are more complex here than on the studio version
