The G.O.A.T. No one playing drums in this genre is this funky fresh my metal friends. Never bored watching him play. Always surprising and interested change ups. Mind blowing skill. Love him.

I saw him live in Frankfurt. He is one of the best Hardrock/metal Drummers I know. Maybe even the best. How can someone dislike this solo?

This is why I love Mario. His solo are always meant to be the most precise possible and he keeps it simple. This is so much better than all those "look at how technical I am" copies everywhere else. This is so simple (didn't say easy) and so efficient, I love it! Also, the editing is crap.

how does he get that "wet" sound from the toms?(idk what to call it but it sounds very cool)
@ThatOneGuyWithAReallyLongName.8 жыл бұрын
Super low tuning to the point where there's hardly a measurable pitch and LOTS of reverb. LOOOOOOOOTS of reverb. It's cool in this sort of setting, but impractical literally everywhere else.

He gets that from his sweat. Not what you meant I suppose. Seriously clear drum heads are a good step in the right direction if you want that sound.
@MrDJELEDJE7 жыл бұрын
Personnaly I don't like this tom sound, but it is his way and you can reconize his tom sound in a second. Mike Bordin choose big toms high tuned and Igor did the same because of Mike....

Serious question... How much money for that drum setup... ballpark?
@nenntmichbond8 жыл бұрын
About 8 - 10 000
@mikestckl69398 жыл бұрын
the cymbals alone might even cost 1500 - 2500
@mammothaudioengineering8 жыл бұрын
That exact setup with those high end quality cymbals is going to run you easily 12k. If it's just "that kind" of setup, I would advise you to just invest in great cymbals and a mid tier drumset. You can always enhance a drum with good heads and proper tuning, but a shit cymbal will always be a shit cymbal.
@mikestckl69398 жыл бұрын
i agree wiht that , if you get a tama imperialstar (if its still avaiable... ) or a mapex with that tom setup you pay probably 1200 for the set with low/midclass cymbals ... add some decent cymbals from any brand that you like and good to go , but a megabell ride is almost a must have if you want that signature sound , mario has his toms tuned really flat so the kit doesnt really has to be a "pro" kit , at least in my opinion ...
@mammothaudioengineering8 жыл бұрын
Mike Støckl honestly, his tuning is not as flat as you think, it's more that we perceive it as that because of the way it is eq'ed (basically mid scoop on all toms). but yeah, you are on point!

Postwar Pryor you clearly don't understand rhythm then... this solo is badass because he is using algorithms with his drum beats (aka polyrhythms). He is the King of rhythm
@jacobm927 жыл бұрын
you clearly dont understand DRUMMING then, just because hes on time doesnt mean hes good, anyone can fucking play on time. fucking fanboys....
@Guigeek4Q46 жыл бұрын
Indialien Jones I'm not a big fan of the band but I'm a big fan of drumming and I can guarantee you this solo is really good. It's full of subtleties which make it very interesting to listen to. Moreover, he's constantly using polyrythms, as someone mentionned before and he clearly is a monster of technique. But the most important : he managed to gather all these qualities to make the hole thing sound musical, that's what make this a good solo. However, I can understand that the really precise and disciplined sound he makes is not for every one. What I can't understand IS that you find it boring, I'd really like you to expand your point.
