@litchqueenasenath59954 жыл бұрын
Both "Fuck this Place!" and "Dear God this Place is Fucked..." are metal as fuck. I might start defining metal in respect to Gojira and Gwar, with the latter having a song called "fuck this place", which is angry and silly, and listening to Gojira makes me angry about the state of the environment.

This was cool. Seems like the next logical step for Gojira. The song is a little simple (I get it, it’s the single) so I hope the rest of the album is a good mix of heavy, groovy and complex. Not telling them to make From Mars 2, TWOAF 2 or Sauvage 2 but IMO Gojira is at their best when they are heavy, groovy and complex all at the same time. Song good. Much excite for listen to new album.
@astraldirectrix4 жыл бұрын
Me too. Thematically, Gojira seem to be aiming for spiritual successors of their classics, such as how Magma deals with grief and loss after (the Duplantier's brothers' mom's) death, while TWOAF is about impending death and how to live before it comes. "Another World" might or might not be the theme of the new album, but it's definitely evocative of the "space adventure" theme of From Mars to Sirius, complete with that Planet of the Apes twist at the end!

I got to go with my brother and his friends to see these guys live for the Mega Monsters Tour and it was my first time hearing all this music. I knew a handful of the songs, but I wanted to go in blind and I was not disappointed. The concert was amazing, but out of all the songs, this one in particular stuck out to me. It blew me away and I just sat in awe, nodding my head to the beat. The music video was playing in the background and I was taken back by the art. Phenomenal art and performance, all three bands were amazing. I bought a copy of Fortitude afterwards, and it was a beautiful album!

I rarely comment on music videos but how did I discover such a gem literally yesterday ? I haven’t been listening to anything else since. And oh my god THE RIFF. IT’S SO GOOD. Editing because... it's been a year now. Found them on february 1st so a bit more than one whole year as of today, feb 27th. They're now my favorite band ever. I've been hyperfixated on them ever since I discovered them one year ago. I can't believe how much their music made me evolve, it changed my whole way of seeing the world. It helps me so much when I'm down. I can't explain how much I love them and their music, how grateful I am for this band existing. I'm seeing them live tomorrow. I can't believe this is happening. Bordel, vous êtes vraiment notre trésor national français. Merci, merci et encore mille fois merci de continuer ce que vous faites
