Finally got a chance to watch this Sensei! Great Review! I enjoyed reading that Book along with Forrest Morgan's "Living the Martial Way". Many great virtues can be gained from the Karate Dojo.

I had this book. It was fun. Before I got the book I thought Peter Urban was a made up person. I would hear wild stories about him that may or may not be true.

Yea, my goju instructor had met him a couple of times and told me some stories. In 2000, I stopped at a martial arts store in Hidden Heights, NJ (I was TDY to McQuire AFB but was staying in a hotel near that store, and when I taught in HA, they were my supplier). Well, the two men working there that day, told stories of Urban as they staid he used to frequent the store and did not live far away). He seemed to both be very endearing and a little mad at the same time. I think the stories about him are true, just too many people I've met have recounted similar tales, and his book The Sensei is quite different to say the least. Thank you very much for commenting!

@@martialartsmadness-g1j The way I heard it was Sensei Urban made his top student lay on the floor. He then said "Taisabaki" as he dropped the ball over the students head. Then the student did Taisabaki out of the way!!!! Then the Sensei picked up the ball and put it in the ball bag. He said "Train Taisabaki class" and left.
