Personally I enjoy a lot of content from countries where I don't speak the language and I prefer subtitles as it lets me hear the genuine emotion and personality in people's voices. And your mom is probably right about not being good for the eyes, but let's be honest a lot of us are probably spending too much time staring at screens either way lol.

Her story really hit home. I've been battling a terminal illness for 30 of my 37 year's. I have many scars from 10 major surgeries and probably 100 procedures/same day surgery. My fiancé had bone cancer as a child as well! He was in the hospital for 3 years straight with chemo, radiation, and surgeries. They removed part of the bone and put in a metal rod.
