Rave Smoove Because they didn;t know how strong the androids were. Piccolo was the first to fight them and he died from the beggining without knowing that they are stronger than Frieza. Vegeta afetr achieving Super Saiyan he thought that he can beat them, but he died too. Piccolo didn't had a chance to escape after he found out that these androids are superior to even Frieza or Goku.

Watching this is actually very chilling. In the same way the Z fighters are at ease when Goku is around, people who care deeply about this show feel the same when Goku is on screen. Goku is more than a character; he’s the embodiment of hope. When things get tough, when he’s around, everything feels.. better- even for the audience. In this timeline where death is permanent, that hope is gone. Hope is what gets you through the hard times and that is suddenly gone. Maybe I’m being a little dramatic but this scene is very tough to watch, probably more than any other scene in Dragonball.

Eventually Goku died by a Natural cause and the Z Fighters die by the hands of the androids, this would change as the different timeline that Zamasu and Black Goku take over the earth and kill a lot of peoples especially after Future Gohan die by the hands of both androids, that timeline was in taken over by the Androids and other hands by Zamasu and Goku Black We would see that the Dragon Ball can't bring Future Goku back but the other timeline in DBS Zamasu was trying to collect all the dragon ball to make him indestructible.

This has got to be the most depressing timeline ever. After DB, Saiyan War, Namek Arc, Goku dies of a natural cause. Then, all the Z-Fighters die as well, besides Gohan/Trunks, with millions of people as well. Later Gohan dies as well by the hands of the Android twins. Years later, the Zamasus take over the planet and destroys all life on Earth. Finally, the whole timeline gets erased by Zeno. No remnants of that timeline exists anymore besides Trunks. How depressing is that, especially for Trunks.

actually, NO. every time the timeline was altered, a new multiverse tangent is created. this original timeline is still intact because this is the timeline goku originally dies of the disease. meaning, zamasu never had a body to switch with. the tangent youre referring to is the timeline created from goku being saved. theres even a third tangent (thats irrelevant now) that was cell hatching in the future, killing future trunks, and using his time machine to go back to the present.

It’s safe to say in this timeline, Goku has truly moved on. Since dying of sickness counts as a natural cause, the Dragon Balls can’t bring him back. Even if the DBs could revive someone who died naturally, there's still the rule that someone can't be revived twice.

but it doesn't matter how he dies, he can take vacation from heaven and visit Earth like in Buu saga. He could train in the afterlife to achieve ss2 and ss3, then take vacation, go to Earth, and destroy androids 17 and 18. Or Piccolo could fuse with Kami, which would put him on par with, or stronger than the androids (as present androids are actually stronger than future androids, as mentioned by Trunks). Or, Vegeta and the rest of the Z fighters could just train in the hyperbolic time chamber and easily destroy the androids. For some reasons, the future Z fighters didn't do any of that. They could have defeat the Androids without Goku's help.

It's dark when you realize this could have been the same exact timeline from the one we started with. For example, Kid Goku and him meeting Chi Chi and stuff. And sacrificing himself to finish off Raditz to where Goku beated Frieza on Namek and finally turned SSJ. Its dark to think that this timeline had the same stuff but different ending. Instead of Goku living on to fight Cell and Magin Buu and stuff, he simply died from a virus. After all he went through. From being a small boy, meeting Chi Chi, trying to rescue his Son Gohan from his older brother, and even Gohan having to survive out in the wilderness for half a year on his own. Ended off to here in this timeline while the other one is the one we are used to watching from OG Dragonball to DBS.

Krillin is a very special character in the whole db series when we saw krillin for the first time is db we thought he was a snotty nosed kid but most of us liked him and then enters dbz he protected gohan and when krillin got blown up that was what triggered Goku into becoming ssj because when it hit Goku that his best friend is gone he realised that he had to do something. So krillin is a very VERY special character he brings us joy and laughter every time

The main timeline is fucking dark and depressing. Without Trunks going back in time the other timelines would have met the same fate. Talk about a dark universe and reality in general when you think about it! So Trunks is technically the hero for every timeline and DBZ overall. Tis mind boggling to think all the other ascended forms of Super Saiyan would have never been discovered, this includes SSJ God and SSJ4 if you count GT. lets not forget Goten would have never existed either or the Super Namek. Perfect cell would have probably existed any way, but maybe not the other villains like Buu. So yeah without Trunks time traveling we would not have our beloved alternative timeline.

This has got to be the saddest opening in a DBZ movie/episode. It's depressing for a few reasons, the first one is that this happens right after everyone got wished back after Goku killed Frieza and mastered super saiyan. Another reason is that this is the ORIGINAL timeline, if Trunks never showed up to give goku the virus medicine, this is what would have happened. Another reason also is that Vegeta was able to become a super saiyan too, and because he would be the first super saiyan to fight these androids, he probably thought it would be a cake walk, boy was he mistaken; and the worst part for Vegeta is that THESE ANDROIDS ARE WEAKER THAN THE ONES IN THE CELL SAGA, so being a super saiyan really meant nothing.

Cali God well to be fair, Gero's androids were beyond his control for starters. And Gero didn't create them out of the blue without doing research on Goku and noticing the power spikes that Goku endured. The man made a proper estimated calculation to overwhelm a super saiyan. Give credit to the man for creating artificial life forms in his desired image. Their appearance could of simply been some sort of trap or decoy to catch their enemies off guard.
