Cell’s timeline was the scene where Gero tried to use the remote to reactivate 17 & 18. But Cell’s capsule survived. But 17 & 18 had already destroyed the Earth, the Z Fighters were gone, and so were they because Trunks killed them I think. So Cell went to the past

Really! It's amazing how Goku injects Gohan with self-confidence. He gives him identity by telling him that he belongs to a warrior family, tells him that he will win, and tells him with incredible confidence that he is the strongest man in the universe, besides that he gives him reasons for a positive future for him. which to live and absolutely removes all the guilt and gives him reasons to face the situation. Gohan had already given up.

I love Cell reminiscing on his past, it gives him more depth to his character. It also makes you think was Cell just born evil, or does he choose to be evil? Because not all androids Gero created were evil incarnate.
