UI was a technique that Goku was able to reach because of his subconscious need to push past his limits. This form allows his body to subconsciously move on its own without him having to any unnecessary thoughts weigh him down. MUI enhanced this by completely clearing not only thoughts of battle, but all emotions, making him a stoic, fighting machine. The thing is, this mindset goes against the nature of Saiyans whose power come from the thrill of battle, and more so in line with the likes of angels who are natural nonchalant and indifferent entities, which goes in line with them having strict rules about unnecessary involvement in mortal affairs. Whis explained in the beginning of the arc to Goku that as of right now, he is simply copying the angels and therefore hinders his usage and growth with the form, so he must find his own variation of ultra instinct. With the fight between gas and Bardock, we were able to see that Bardock won not because of him "clearing his mind" or anything, but because he took advantage of his natural instinct as a Saiyan which is to find thrill in the battle of a strong obstacle in order to grow, which was ultimately what allowed him to find the strength to defeat gas. Goku is now realizing that by adopting the mindset of entities that are completely opposite of his own nature hes essentially hindering or nerfing himself and he's suppressing his true desires for the sake of power which ironically is what is holding him back. This is quite genius as it gives the technique "ultra instinct" a whole new meaning, as it's not simply battle instinct, but a technique that is fueled by the true instinct and nature of the user, basically using their natural tendency and desires to boost the user to the peak of their battle potential, hence the name "ultra instinct". By having experienced the pinnacle of UI in the way of the angela via his silver-haired form, he was able to determine that such a mindset was in fact not in line with his own nature and subsequently puts him one step closer to obtaining that Whis had alluded to at the beginning of the arc, which is an Ultra instinct that is in line with him as Son Goku and as a Saiyan.

I have to say. Posing that Vegeta maxed out offense over defense if we looked at it from a game *stats* standpoint is the opposite. My boy maxed his hp out to ensure he could KEEP taking damage. Then took an ability that lets his offense grow the more damage he takes. It's not a uncommon tank trait.

the thing is, he didn't *actually* "max his hp" in any real way though. Vegeta's taking an immature approach to using the skill. He should still be avoiding hits in order to maximize his stamina. you don't see Beerus just tanking significant damage. getting hit is inevitable though, and UE would allow him to uno reverse every mistake into more power. When he first unveiled this form he talked about his pride and ego relishing in the thrill of battle, not in taking as much damage as possible. Goku also got lost in the sauce of UI. He realized that clearing his mind of extraneous thoughts allowed him to fully commit to the battle. he then decided to abandon ALL thoughts and emotion for *moar power* while forgetting the foundational principle: his instincts are Saiyan. Although they are taking different routes, Goku's instincts and Vegeta's ego both come from their Saiyan heritage. As they each refine their understanding of their respective Ultra forms, I imagine they may end up on somewhat parallel paths.

Here's why I think this Omen form is different than the Tournament of Power form. In ToP, Omen was new and a form that subconsciously came to Goku due to training and due to his body subconsciously recognizing the weight of Jiren's attacks. He was conflicted and still wanted attack but it required more martial arts thinking. The difference here is that Goku has come to terms with who he is as a Saiyan. Something he has never done before. As stated in the vid, Saiyan's are prone to emotion and attacking. So by coming to terms with himself as a Saiyan, he is able to use his Saiyan instincts to attack and the ultra instinct Omen to defend, therefore creating a hybrid Saiyan Instinct form that is able to dodge but has more striking power as Saiyans naturally fight that way. Hope that makes sense.

Haven’t seen the video yet But I think it’s similar to what Vegeta did against zamasu where he would switch between blue and god for speed and strength, think of silver hair ui as a constant stream of power, where in his calmness, goku has max martial arts performance, but he can’t really raise or lower the output too much because of that same calmness, with omen, he can use his emotions and excitement to up his power at any moment, as we see he can be more brutal and creative even if he risks being hit more, and I honestly like it when I think of it that way

I think that UI is more than just dodging. I think Goku can respond to attacks and instantly counter even if he gets hit he can instantly answer back. So I think it’s a combination of dodging, reacting, countering, and emotion control.

It's all in the name: Ultra Instinct... Weaponizing your own instincts to fight... Goku had to tap into his true nature... I like how the analogy was made to super Saiyan 3, because that transformation taps into the basic instinct of a Saiyan to draw more power, although Goku when he originally fought in that form, he did not understand his own nature, and subconsciously tapped into it... That being said, he couldn't have accessed ultra instinct back then because something else was missing: God ki.... Now, with SSJ3 mindset, Ultra instinct Sign being a gateway to mastering Ultra Instinct, and his understanding of his nature, I believe that Goku is at the door of a new, final transformation that will be called Saiyan Ultra Instinct... I think whis was right, goku needs perfect ui. Let me explain, basically goku needed omen ui and perfect ui to learn mastery over the ui technique and how to tap into it, so he could then learn his own way of ui the reason for this is because he would need those two forms before making the technique his own. Right now in this chapter he is making omen ui his own, my guess is that he’ll make perfect ui his own as well which will most likely look like a super sayin 2 just with black hair and bits sliver to match with vegetas form.

I honestly think when Goku was using omen and ssg at the beginning of the arc, he was testing out this technique back then and decided he liked omen better than mui. News from his past and hearing his dad fight is what triggered how to make it work. His conscious attacks are almost like an attack ultra instinct of it own cos his drive it to win and get aggressive makes up for thinking about every hit.

He’s looking to master his own version of UI, a saiyan version which includes emotions. That’s why he says, with this form he doesn’t have to worry about letting his emotions go. That includes a saiyans anger. He’s found his own version which includes anger and emotions. He already used ui with ssg in this arc and with ss, only difference now is he’s figured out how to make it work with his saiyan blood. That’s why this ui omen is stronger than any other time he’s used it.

Okay, that’s a combination, it’s using the speed of ui but using his emotions and pride to increase the power of goku. This makes sense and goku may be able to make a mastered version of this or may make a self instinct per say to make basically infinite power.

I believe omen is stronger rn because it's basically the start of a new ultra Instinct which is goku's. He kinda mastered the angel version but it wasn't his nature so the form wasn't working out for him. Of course a Sayin that lives in the thrill of battle wouldn't be at their best disconnected from it. It further mirrors the two forms Vegeta and Goku have. Ego is tempering yourself by throwing yourself into a fight, learning in it while doing. Instinct is training for battle, growing one's body and mind before the battle starts. But both of these forms are just different approaches to living in the thrill of battle.

When Goku used UI within that same at least 3 time timeframe which weren't always voluntary mind you, he was very impressive. When goku went ui for the first time he got dogged lol he didn't land a blow on jiren he just dodged everythin for about 30 seconds in the actual tournament of power time. 2nd time was against kefla who not only was to cocky but to inexperienced which led to her downfall. 3rd time he did better against jiren but still got dogged. The 4th time was his most impressive showing and that's when he was tapping into mui where he dominated the battle but still lost due to his energy running out and that all took place in about 3 minutes. The point is vegeta was way more impressive during his run. Not only did he do massive damage to gronlah but when he lost he got back up almost right away unlike goku

i don't think Goku's done mastering ultra instinct, this was only a clever tactic to gain the upper hand in typical Goku fashion. Similar with how in the anime he used the Kaioken with SSB giving him a temporary boost in overall fighting power through technique. All this did in using Sign is allow his body to be more alert and control his ki subconsciously but free him to fight in his base form. This isn't a power boost at least in terms of Ki. I predict this was goku resetting so he can figure out how to use UI properly for himself. By reverting back to it's halfway point and with a new mindset he might unlock his true potential.

Here’s the thing. Ultra Instinct Omen/Sign, may be the best version of Ultra Instinct for Goku. However, that doesn’t mean that there isn’t a Mastered form of Ultra Instinct sign/omen. I think that is the next level for him. But I also think that Goku’s truly perfected UI would be him combining Both mastered Sign/omen and mastered Ultra Instinct. And that Perfected form, may be something that Goku cannot access all the time. Which is perfectly ok.

i think there is not anything like perfected sign/omen, mastered ultra instinct is still superior in every aspect but it is something a angel would use to its fulest, goku has trouble maintaining it for long because of his mindset and instincts, he is just now learning that the mastered version is a perfect variant of ultra instinct but it is not his style, it is like anything on life, the amstered version is what everyone thinks is the best form of ultra instinct and goku is able to use it for a short time with som tradebacks, but he is finding out there is a way he can take better advantage of the technique without having to stress his body nearly as much and it happens to look like omen again, what goku is doing is making a branch in the ultra instinct style, his own version of it and it is not what everyone considers a mastered version, even he is just now exploring the new possibility, it is not like he just powers down and uses omen as his strongest transformation forever, in time goku could develop his own style more and more, making a new mastered version.
