Well, a video was released revealing him and Oden for Treasure cruise, and his ultimate attack starts pretty goofy, with him running from the marines in a pretty goofy manner. And he apparently is supposed to be similar to Luffy, so him being goofy enough to say something like this doesn’t seem too out of the question

I really like the idea of Roger giving his sword to Buggy only for Buggy to immediately hidde it somewhere because he was scared that people would hunt him down for it. It would be cool if he would retrieve it at the end of the story to protect Rogers dream. But that's just my idea.

Roger didn't seem that sentimental. I think maybe he didn't have a special sword, he simply grabbed whatever was at hand and it became the Pirate King's Weapon because HE willed it to be. Would explain all the different versions we've seen throughout the story.

I remember as a kid I used to think that Shanks was using Roger's sword. I always thought that for the longest time so I didn't question it. I was very sad to figure out that wasn't the case after revisiting the idea. :( It really would have made A TON OF SENSE since Shanks ALREADY HAD ROGERS HAT. I always hoped he inherited Roger's sword since we know that he was gifted Roger's hat almost near the start of his apprenticeship. Every flashback of young Shanks shows him already with the hat, so Roger must have bestowed it upon the apprentice Shanks pretty early in their relationship.

@@Dr.HooWho contact. anazons have physical contact with the arrows and are able to charge the arrow with haki right before they fire it. it retains the charge for the flight due to having just been charged and not had time to dissipate. gun users do not have contact with bullets. they have contact with the gun. they could definitely put haki into the gun but would it really affect a bullet they were not in direct contact with well enough to keep the bullet haki charged throughout its flight to target [which may be at a even longer range than a amazon arrow] while also leaving the gun in a state it is still able to be fired? my guess is ‘no’ it is not practical to use haki infused bullets in a typical fast paced live combat situation you would generally favor a gun in.

Definitely. The mere fact that Admiral Kizaru immediately put his full attention to Benn Beckman is enough proof that a shot from any of the gun users on a Yonko's crew is not a joke, even for haki-using high-grade fruit users at the level of an admiral. I honestly think they might be some of the most dangerous characters in the entire series. Ranged haki-users that can end your life from afar, maybe even before you see it coming, observation haki or not.

What if the "random typhoon" that appeared during the Battle of Edd War that wrecked Shiki's fleet and allowed Roger to somehow get away scot free was actually Dragon? The way Roger is saved here is very reminiscent of how Luffy is saved at Loguetown, by Dragon. So it is possible that it is an ability both Dragon and Roger possess, someone with the ability was looking out for Roger in the same way Dragon looked out for Luffy, or it was Dragon himself. Edd War was 3 years before Roger's execution, 27 years before the current timeline, and Dragon would have been 28 at the time. He became a revolutionary after Roger's execution, but he was at the execution, which implies he already had some tie to him and was not dressed as a marine, implying that he had already left them. It's possible that Dragon learned what the Will of D means early on in his life, which is why he defected from the marines, and maybe Roger is the one who told him. Roger and Garp clashed a to, so Roger might have known that Dragon was his son, and that both had the Will of D. Dragon was said to rise through the marines fairly quickly, so he could have been put on the grand line and actually had a run in with Roger, where Roger spared him and told him what the Will of D is, and to choose a different path from his father. Could have even happened while Roger was detained and awaiting execution. We've seen that Garp was able to speak with Roger during that time, so maybe Dragon had witnessed some of the horrors of the marines and World Government and wanted answers, so he went to Roger, the man who had seen and experienced everything, and with the same Will of D he possessed. There Roger, knowing he was dying soon, humored the questions of a young carrier of the Will of D and sewed a seed. He sewed many in his final days, asking Garp to raise Ace, starting the Great Pirate Era, and potentially spurring Dragon to create his Revolutionary Army. It could be that after this very conversation is when Dragon defected from the marines, but was unsure what to do from there. He goes to Roger's execution and sees how he sparks the start of a new era, but Dragon sees the types of people that are now wanting to become pirates on a whim, and that is not him. He is not as happy go lucky as the other people wanting to play pirate for their own pleasure, no, he wants to create real change, not only for himself, but for others, so he decides to create the Revolutionaries.

Its more like Roger had the typhoon typhoon fruit, dragon knew the secret of devil fruits, brought a fruit with him near roger's execution, thats why Dragon got the typhoon fruit. And why did you put it like dragon was a past marine I actually have a theory about what happened in God Valley but please hear me out. 1. Roger and Garp defeated Xebec 2. Xebec had a child. And it was Shanks (dont freak out yet pls hear me out) 3. Both Roger and Garp know that a newborn child has no sin at all, so they will never kill baby Shanks. 4. The celestial dragons were present at that time, so Garp would never be able to take Shanks. Therefore Garp and Roger decided that Roger would take Shanks in his crew. This is also the reason why Roger left Ace to Garp since Roger knows that Garp wont kill a newborn child. 5. Blackbeard's idol is Xebec (like Luffy is to Shanks) i cant think of any reason why BB got to know Xebec (assuming BB is not the son of Xebec) So he wants to be like Xebec (like all things related to rocks the beehive the name of the ship etc) 6. This is the reason why BB despises Shanks because the son of his idol doesn't really resemble his father at all in his ideals and ways since Shanks grew up with Roger 7. The hair of Shanks doesn't really resemble rocks hair at all (the silhouette) but maybe he got it from his mother. If Rocks hair color would be revealed as red, Im gonna call it right there. Additional theory: Usopp will die. All strawhats have their own dreams specifically: Luffy - pirate king Zoro - greatest swordsman Sanji - all blue Nami - map of the whole world Robin - void century Brook - laboon reunion Franky - protect tom's legacy Chopper - to be able to cure all diseases Jimbe - to get fishmen to the surface with no racism And what is usopp's dream? He never said he wanted to be king of the snipers. His dream is "to become a brave warrior of the sea" and nothing can completely fulfill his dream except to die while fighting for the strawhat pirates. (This is also hinted couple of times whenever usopp doesnt want to go to an island or a place he always says "im gonna die from not go to an island disease") and this could be the hardest point of Luffy during his battle (since when he was with Ace when ace died, he fainted cause he wasnt able to take the pain) but this time, Luffy should be able to withstand the pain and shouldnt let emotions get to him to defeat blackbeard (im not sure who his final opponent is, but most likely it would be blackbeard since one piece will end after luffy becomes pirate king) Please tell me your thoughts about it guys

I would love it if Roger just used any random cutlass he could find. Never had a high meito grade sword, just your everyday run of the mill cutlass that he would change out whenever, and he is just so strong and good with Haki that it doesn't matter what he uses. Zoro had to upgrade his swords after the unranked ones kept breaking, but maybe Roger was so powerful and good with Haki that any sword he picked up became like a Seijo-O-wazamono grade sword

This isn't unprecedented in one piece. Ryuma used a random low class sword and as the time passed, his sword shusui became a black blade and now considered as on of 21 great grade sword. So, I can see no reason why it can't be the case roger too. The amount of haki he had, it's illogical to think that any weapon would be normal after he used it for some time.

i have a theory that haki can be pushed to such high intensities that it end up damaging the boddy of the user... possibly requiring conqueror's haki and using it on yourself or something... something like that could explain why both roger and whitebeard got sick... would also be kinda interesting if garp doesn't like talking about the rocks incident cause he and roger lost, they just had nothing to bring to the table vs rocks... but then his body kinda gave out and his weakness gave them an opportunity to finish him... so garp feels ashamed cause he wasn't strong enough and had to use backhanded tactics to win...

Thing is, my headcannon as of right now is that Roger didn't have a special sword, I like to think he had a regular sword he just picked up one day, because, why not? Any blade can be a black blade, the swordsman matters more than the sword.
