What a good lot of gold you got out of your riffles, and I love those garnets! What I love about going into the country is it takes my troubled mind off the job, cuz being a trauma doc takes it out of me bad when kids are involved in accidents. So gold prospecting puts my mind in a happy place! What I also love about being out in the sticks is your enthusiasm - a very great motivator! This is why I just can't wait to go find our gold. Just wish our weather was better! All the very best to you, to Mrs Wizard and Missy Wizard, and your lovely doggits Rigby and Moose! Hope you keep getting rewarded with great gold! Wendi 🌻

PS. Iron ore is always present, nearly always in meteorite, but take advice before cutting into it. That large lump could be worth $$$$, but take your time on google and see what gives. Molly here says get it officially tested cuz she says the testing could be a good investment if that lump is the real McCoy!

@@FlourgoldWizards Please do it because that lump _could_ be worth a small fortune. Meteorite from some asteroids can be worth far more because they are so rare, and even my piece I got last year in Falmouth got me some £££s...monies went into a trust for my girls for when they're older. (I got my naval pension + my Air Ambulance salary, so my girls need the money more than me. Take good care of your back, buddy and good luck with that iron ore meteorite. I bet you it's for real. I have found my share of meteorites and even have one in the museums and records as my find, better have that looked at and send me a few pictures. Try a streak test on unglazed porcelain like the bottom ring on a coffee cup, if black likely Magnetite, if reddish-brown, Hematite, if no streak more testing needed as a meteorite will not streak.

I think the one in my picture next too my message you can see part of it. It is smooth and not very magnetic.Dad called it an iron rock. A magnet will stick to it if you have a strong one and hang it on a string and move the stone close to it slowly. I filed a small little spot and it is very shiny under the dark color reddish brown color on the outside. It's about 3/4 the size of a soft ball and weighs about 5 pounds. it amazes every one who picks it up, how heavy it is. You are supposed to take it to a university geology dept and let them test it.I'm pretty sure I was one of the people to tell you go back and get it.Great gold Jason, you are on it!

Hi Jason good stuff! The few times I've seen meteorites "explored within", they cut it 1/3-1/2 way from an edge(but it was usually a 1st for them, so ??) If it were my suspected meteorite, i'd probably clean it up really good and set it on the coffee table awhile. Set it on it's various sides and see which way looks best, which ways sit most stable, and has one of its largest somewhat flat surfaces, "presented"😉. Then if possible, use a steel band saw to slice a thin slab off that face. That, or either grind or mill that somewhat flat face, until expanses of matrix were exposed, & see what's inside. If cool, polish it to taste, of if it looks pretty homogenous, maybe acid etch it?

You could take the potential meteorite to an expert as others have said. Then if it isn't a meteorite it can become the first in the line of FGW Pet Rocks. Just stencil in some sun glasses on that baby. As for pans... I prefer the big Garret but I know others who find it awkward and heavy. As long as the material is shaken and stratified first you can pan that big one at like 90 degrees without any losses until the final stages with the black sands, and that's all you need to do to get an estimate and bank the concentrate in a bucket and move on. So it's about speed and accurate counts. Beyond that it's user preference and what is comfortable. Cool vid! Literally. Every time I see you digging ice with your bare hands I notice you get stuffed up later on. If Infinity got you some nice mining gloves would you wear them? You got waders, don't neglect the paws!

If that is a meteorite its worth lots of money. Have someone that knows about that stuff cut it. Or do it yourself and look for metal cells or sections. You could sell to us or put it on ebay. Great video Jason!!

Hi Mr. wizard, Bought that blacksands from you a year ago, well I also sold meteorites on eBay, magnet 🧲 check looks good, another thing that can be done is to sand down a flat portion say ~a dime size area flat and polish it on that surface with a very fine sand paper, you then etch that area with weak nitric acid solution, a granular pattern will appear if you stone is a meteorite, as your stone may be a iron nickel meteorite. If you want more info. I can direct you to information an nitric acid sources ,some on eBay. Also you’ll want to do this upwind an outside with rubber gloves as acid fumes will come off.

@@FlourgoldWizards great used the year and developed the 1 micron mill, doing leach experiments now to see how it extracts the gold..do yo need meteorite info, you could find it on line if you want to etch the meteorite. Oh also since you like gadgets, did you see the snake skin gold pan www.metaldetector.com/xp-gold-pan-premium-kit you can see some of the tests with this pan on KZbin kzbin.info/www/bejne/iam7nH-HbZl3e8k Bernie

I panned in the north Saskatchewan river, in the middle of winter...PANNING!!! Lol at -10 Celsius, you can strip in the pan, and omg the earth stuff just rises, collects, and leaves fast, but at -12 Celsius in 🇨🇦, your pan freezes solid, and even gold sticks to the pan. I always had a fire on the bank, great water boots, and a snack...along with Pabst lmao...it was so fun at 2am, no one around, except the deer 2014 Ps...where's your freaking gloves??? Lol At 10:00....well....must be nice to not worry about cougars? Blackbears are somewhat docile here, they don't hibernate, just short sleeps, so they can be out, but never (knockonwood) have I had a run in...but cats, yes... Wash the shovel. I tested a shovel, and it held some
