Also rinse with distilled water until the liquid is clear. Then boil with distilled. Then boil with hcl to make it super clean

Other refiners often dissolve and filter the ferrous sulfate before adding it in. As you've shown here it still works adding in the powder but you risk contamination if the ferrous sulfate isn't pure.

Definitely a must. There was some stuff with the gold when I melted it. It was definitely combustible though.

Be aware of storing ferrous sulfate correct. Fresh ferrous sulfate work extremely well, as shown in your video. It has that greenish tint proving it's pure ferrous sulfate. Unfortunately, ferrous sulfate easily oxidizes to ferric sulfate. Over time it'll turn more and more white and become less and less effective. In crystal form it's important to store it in a plastic bag tightly wrapped, without any air inside the bag. When using it don't leave the bag open for longer than absolutely necessary. Do not store it in a container with empty space above the crystals, it'll react with oxygen in the air trapped inside the container. Most of the cheap ferrous sulfate, from for example garden stores, is almost already half ferric sulfate and must be regenerated before being used for precipitation. Such low quality chemicals usually also contain contaminants; therefore, dissolving and recrystallization must be done for optimal performance. Always dissolve ferrous sulfate crystals and filter the solution before using it for precipitation. If bought from a chemical supplier filtering might not be necessary, but it works best and faster when added in liquid form. Ferrous sulfate is one of the easiest chemicals to make at home. Chemically clean 100% pure iron in sulfuric acid gives you ferrous sulfate. When the reaction is completed, filter the solution to remove excess iron pieces, boil it down until green crystals appear, let it cool down to room temperature, and store it wet in a soft plastic container in the freezer. Upon deep cooling more crystals are formed in the liquid. When ferrous sulfate is needed just pick up an appropriate quantity of crystals, dissolve them in water and your ferrous sulfate is ready for precipitation of gold. Make it in small batches; thereby your ferrous sulfate will "never" turn into ferric sulfate as it'll be used before it has a chance to oxidize to ferric sulfate. In the freezer any oxidation will take place at an extremely slow page, i.e. not noticeable.

I got my own chemistry experiment goin on right now in my kitchen. I stuck a loaf of bread in a cabinet I don’t use much about three months ago and totally forgot about it. Wow. I’m suprised it didn’t get up and run away. Totally unrecognizable. 🤦♂️🤷♂️😂😂😂
