Keep up the good work! I use ferrous sulfate premixed in a one gallon jug by Sunniland from Lowe's for $8 on my common bermuda and it makes it pop for sure with only 3 oz/1k twice a month. If you want it to really pop for a month, they make a bagged product that is called super Iron + plus 16.5%. Awesome!!!

@@PrincessCutLawnCare No. I've got some iron chloride in liquid form. It's waste from some plating I did. So I thought it might make an interesting experiment. Of course it's mostly hydrochloric acid so I would need to dilute it down quite a bit. Or I could turn it into iron oxide. Maybe throw that down. Hehehe I don't know, I'm just spitballin.

I like your idea about using liquid iron to make my grass darker and want to make my own DIY liquid iron using Ferrous Sulfate granules since buying a 50 lb. bag is cheaper at my local feed store than buying store bought liquid iron. Would you know the approximate ounces of Ferrous Sulfate I should use per 1 gallon? My sprayer is only a 1 gallon size and it's easier to calculate measurements in 1 gallon versus 1K ft. area because my lawn is a very odd shape. Thanks!

If you want to be more specific you foliar applied ferrous sulphate heptahydrate. The Lawn Guy in Britain shows applying 500 grams or 16 ounces per thousand ( of the product you used) on very well irrigated turf to blacken moss before power raking so.....don't be scared! My experience is make sure the turf isn't drought stressed and then give a little water later in the day. Thank you for being clear about your contest rules because it's awkward to only learn later that subscribers in other countries can't enter.

SO I just recently obtained a bag of Ferrous Sulfate. I am curious what the powder to water ratio is. I have read the comments and don't really understand the formula that people are saying. I am just curious how many cups of powder per how many liters do I mix? Any help would be appreciated. I live on the West Coast (British Columbia) Canada. Not too sure if that changes the ratio.

The label says it contains 20% iron and it doesn't green up dark green?
@shion_lwn4 жыл бұрын
Subscribed :)! cool info! I've never tried that before. I was wondering if you have used powder iron chelate for lawn and know how to apply? I bought a 7% powder iron chelate. The instruction says 8g with a gallon of water per 100sq.ft (foliar spray). Does this sound quite a bit of water to you? I'm new to this, and feel like I would pump so many times and walk like a turtle to spray 1000sq.ft lawn 🥴
@PrincessCutLawnCare4 жыл бұрын
Hello! nice to connect! that seems more of a garden app rate, what is the name of the product? Thanks for the sub btw!
@shion_lwn4 жыл бұрын
@@PrincessCutLawnCare Thank you for your response!! This product is made in Canada (Growers Fertilizer Ltd). I bought it from a garden store online. I couldn't find much info online, so I looked at the label now. I made a mistake in my first comment. App rate for lawns is actually 5g of powder per 2 gallons of water (100sq.ft). still...using up 2gallons for 100sq.ft with a pump sprayer seems like a lot.. sorry for bugging you. I appreciate your comment. I just wondered if you have experience with powder iron chelate.
@PrincessCutLawnCare4 жыл бұрын
@@shion_lwn No Problem bud, Thats sounds more like a soil application rather then a foiler application. I would apply a foiler application of 7% iron chelate at a rate of 2 oz's per 1000sqft so i would start off like that and monitor your results

Hey thanks for the video. I just purchased some of the ferrous sulfate, and Greenways app rate on their website is a bit confusing. What is this long form that you mentioned, and where did you get that 2-3 oz/Ksf? Greenway's website depicts 1-2 tbls. per gallon, but it doesn't explain how man sf that mixer covers.
