To me, your life, doing what you do, seems so risky, and uncertain. That is the reason I'm so into your channel. I'm an electrician, steady job, steady money, no real drama in my work. 9 to 5 kinda stuff, but a few more hours than that. You have the confidence to believe you can make enough to take care of you and your family, off of what is mostly cast aways and leftovers. So not only do you do it, but you do it well, and in a very Canadian way ( humane, caring, etc. ). What an interesting way to make a living, and a life. I hope you keep making such interesting content, I'm a big fan.

Yes but Alex has so much knowledge about antiques, collectibles and cars so he knows what he is doing. I’m not worried about him I’m just in awe of him! Plus he is so funny and cute.😂

Well, his you tube channel brings in quite a lot of money. When asked in the past why he pays people to do an entire house clean-out instead of them paying him -- as would ordinarily be the case -- he said it gave him lots of content for his channel and it seemed only fair!! So yes he is a very caring person!

Alex, your show is the treasure I've found. You are always so positive and so delightful! Also, real Navajo and Pueblo silver jewelry will ALWAYS have a full bezel around the stones. The cheap stuff uses prongs which fail. The turquoise is the precious part of the art and treated as such!

No, the ashtray moon lamp is more likely late 50's and 60's. Mid-century was out by 70's regardless of what "dealers" say.

Dear Mr. Archbold. 👍👌👏 Congratulations 🎉 for another great purchase. The leather luggage will look just fine in the Ferrari. 2) I spotted some pretty old Matchbox cars in the bucket. 3) I watched CWM Scott fixing this very defective bumper. It was definitely a ton of work. I don't think that anybody else would've repaired such a piece (way too much effort). The Nissan twin turbo is a really great car. I hope that you and your son will have a lot of fun driving it. Best regards, luck and especially health to all of you.

Portable Morse key - maybe railroad or other on-site emergency tool, from back when. When the new VW bugs came out they had flower vases on the dashboard, just because they could. People put weird things in their cars, often made "just to see if we can do that." 14:09 Sweater guard originally, from when women wore cardigans draped over their shoulders. Make a heckuva mask holder now.

Alex, I have an identical car coffee pot (also never used!). Yours is missing its mounting bracket, a flat strip of metal bent into an L-shape that can be attached somewhere or bent again to fit over the car window sill. (Mine's painted bright orange, so if you find an inexplicable orange bracket thingy among your acquisitions, that'll be what it's for.) I doubt it's worth the couple dollars or so I paid for it 35 years ago at a clearance shop.

I've seen those jewelry pieces with chain connecting two clips of broches used ornamental pieces on both sides of the collar of a button down, somewhat like a nacklace of tie. My mother knows them as "sweater clips" for holding both side of a women' s small cardigan sweater in place of buttons or alongside them. Cape clip makes even more sense, given that capes often have think fabrics that don't wear too much from the use of the fasteners. These have been having a moment as clips for button down collars among vintage hipsters, but I wish they'd go more mainstream. They seem like a useful way to make garments functional quickly if you want them to have a button to fit them closer around the upper body and they don't.
@GolyenHighway9 ай бұрын
I have wider hips & a narrow waist. I have been using clips like that to tighten the waist of longer shirts that I leave over the pants. Also a few dresses that are a bit too loose in the waist, but fitting in the hips. I believe the ones I had were called vest clips, because they were designed to cinch the back of a vest so it was slimmer under a jacket.
