26:55 cloud really loves it when he is recognized for doing something cool. on remake its just the honey bee inn, but in rebirth, so far its the army pep speech where he got carried away and here at the gold saucer entrance show. also goes when he do something he think is cool like the dolphin jump slash at the end of the boss fight. as long as he could do something he think is cool or he do something that he could be seen as the cool guy, he loves it.

It depends, if your highest bonds are with Barret (who's obviously busy during this time) or Red (don't know why they didn"t make one for him) you get nobody. Tifa, Aerith and Yuffie each have their own date here. So maybe her highest approval was Barret or Red (it's easy to test once you've finished the game as it lets you who will be your highest approval companion on this chapter)

Final Fantasy as a series really follows the "Heroes Journey" with its story telling. Start small, doing "x" because of personal reasons and slowly learn that your reasons are just part of a much bigger picture that almost always ends up dealing with World Ending events. it is an effective story telling method that used time and again but Squaresoft (now Square Enix) truly mastered it for video games. Loving your playthrough so far! Really bummed you didn't get either Tifa or Aerith for the Golden Compass exploration. Looking forward to seeing who you get on your return trip!!

That Brawl Battle section was hard to watch, I feel for you. 😭😂 I suggest you read through its tutorial again. There was one crucial thing you did not catch which would have made these fights so much easier for you. The thing was that you kept doing only Right Hooks (R2). When the opponent leans towards you (almost always distinguished by the blue color apart from a few exceptions. They usually stop showing color when they have low health, so you have to really ook out for their leaning direction). That means he is taunting it's your window to hit him. BUT you have to make sure you hit him from the side he is leaning into. So if they are leaning towards you with their right side, you want to hit them with a Left Hook (L2), and vise versa. That's why you were missing so many attacks. It is not some sort of random luck evasion thing. Maybe you have already figured this out or heard it from someone else but I'm leaving this comment here in hope it might be of help to you. Love your playthrough, keep them coming! 😇

Cait Sith is a creature from Scottish folklore. Its real pronunciation sounds like "ket shee" and the Japanese pronunciation of this character in Rebirth reflects that, but they left the English version pronounced "Kate Sith" in this game because us dumb Westerners have been pronouncing it that way for almost 30 years and I guess they wanted to honor that. Hopefully not a spoiler, but you also saw this character in Remake pounding his fists on the ground watching the plate fall. I'll leave it at that.

It’s Mako eyes. Cloud and all SOLDIERS have been exposed to a lot of Mako so their eyes turn the hue of Mako. Aerith’s eyes are just naturally green, but since she has Cetra dna, it does resemble Mako eyes due to the tie that the Cetra have with the planet and the Lifestream. But her eye color are slightly different still

Before chapter 12 happens you should do all of Tifa's quests and ignore some of the others quests until that part is done if you want to see more of Tifa and Cloud.

She'll never ignore quests. too much lore/story there. But you can control affinity by not using synergy skills with characters you don't want. those are actually worth about 1-2 per free ones and like a big 3-4% each for the full ATB costing ones. What bites kasta in but is she likes to rotate her characters often so theyre all getting used equally. it's likely what bit her in butt here. I did every quest in game, and did every optional dialog, but yuffie and aerith rode the bench, and i got tifa date here in chapter 8

I regret they did not put in from the OG the eerie desert escape attempt mechanic from Corel prison. Instead of being blocked immediately, you COULD go out into a series of sandy game screens. But there were almost no landmarks, you did not know which way to go, and eventually you'd pass out and find yourself recovered back in the prison (I _think_ rescued by the goon squad as is alluded to here with Billy, but I don't recall exactly). It was a pretty cool way to give the feeling of being surrounded by serious desert, with the Prison and Saucer above the only oasis. It relied on old school adventure game screen-to-screen navigation but I'm sure they could've come up with a modern equivalent here...

For the many who did not play Before Crisis (the Japanese only cell phone game), the ultimate irony is, it was Fuhito's Avalanche (known here as Old Guard) that blew up Corel's reactor to try and get Rufus. So it really was an insurgent group, it was the same thing Barret did twice in Midgar..

Hello Maggie great video, by the way depending on who you're hangind out with you'll get a different scenes when they see Jessie on the picture you can look it up if you want. And yes the mission where you had to take her facther's keycard in chapter 4 of Remake, you could find a letter on the floor letting you know she was at the Gold Saucer theater. Another thing if you're hangind out with Red it means you have the most points with Red, so if you want to romance Tifa or think Tifa is the one for Cloud, you might have to neglect the other characters a little and focus on Tifa., have a nice day.

As tips for 3 d brawler, it’s basically turn based as in you can’t proactively hit it. You can only react and hit it in blue phase, also use the corresponding punish when it’s blue, left or right hook depending on which fist it has down. The moves have different sound effects so it’s a big tell which way to dodge for some moves. There is an easy cheese if it’s still too much.

3D Brawler: Yes, the ques can be someone ambiguous. Some things to note... the only time you can hit is when they stop, usually glow blue, then you can only hit them on the side with the arm down. If the left arm is down, hit the R2 button. If the right arm is down, hit the L2 button. So they aren't good at missing, you just don't understand which button to push. You were always trying to hit the R2 button. For dodging/blocking, if you don't get the timing right, you block instead of dodge. For which move to dodge properly, you can generally look at the off hand and the head whether it is up, straight out, or down and do that with the joystick on the side throwing the punch. - easy mode - you can hit pause as the opponent is winding up to get a better look at how to dodge. Kind of cheating, but can help learn how to see what he is about to do. G-Bike: it isn't racing, it is a points gathering. You gain points for knocking the other bikers off, everything else is very minor if anything. General: you really need to be reading the screen more.

Happens when your best affinity is Barret. It's also why the cutscene showcases Barret's innocence right off the bat. If your affinity is higher with anyone else they accompany you, and you aren't told for certain. If your affinity with Barret is rock bottom, you don't even defend him when accused.
