Hi Mike Sorry man, but i have to say this, the yield numbers for most of what you listed are way off... I don't know where or how you got these numbers, but i would strongly reconsider publicating them.

The Gold plated CPU with the little window where you can actually see all the gold lead wires. I have one of those I got out of a Samsung Hi-Def TV. I never seen one before until I just watched this video again. Coolest looking CPU ever!!

I've lost count of how many lab hours and chemicals iv'e invested into making my yields notes. However, I am compiling a partial list of most popular types of cpu's from my lab notes, due to poblicate in my website in few weeks.

3:22 little pieces are palladium. Which pieces? The little chips? If I'm going to remove the pins for scrapping should i keep those tiny chips from the bottom of the CPU separately too?
@MooseZ7111 жыл бұрын
You mentioned a follow up video on how to take a CPU apart but I cannot find it. Do you have a link to that video?

Im trying to learn about gold refining is your DVD about that or scrapping in general
@MiketheScrapper11 жыл бұрын
You can sell them seperate on ebay or as a whole... depends how you remove & whats the market. They are worth money

HI! Mike another good one, sorry to ask but should I remove all the widgets from my boards before shiping, also I can't seem to find the video where you named your wire stripper, help! David O The Urban Prospector.

I have a small collection of gold fingers and such, but how much is needed to get a significant amount that's worth processing? Is it easier to sell a pound of gold fingers on ebay, perhaps a pound, and let someone else process.
@krillin87612 жыл бұрын
Mike, you should take a commonly scrapped computer, like an early 2000's Dell apart piece by piece. And do the same think with the ram and other gold plated parts.
@josephdertinger985711 жыл бұрын
OH YEAH ANOTHER QUESTION DO YOU SCRAP OFF ALL CHIPS FROM THE BOARDS? HOW DO YOU SEPERATE THE PRECIOUS METALS?, MY BROTHER IN LAW WHO'S IN THE MAIN FRAME BIZ, SAYS THE CHIPS ARE WORTH ALOT AS WELL AS THE BOARDS THEM SELVES.
@MiketheScrapper12 жыл бұрын
There is a upfront expense. But if you have enough computer scrap , it will be worth it...You can profit on your 1st batch and still have material left over for future batches...
@MiketheScrapper11 жыл бұрын
not yet... That will be in a gold refining video...
@lordblazerpsx12 жыл бұрын
this is taken straight from the site.. ''Due to the fact that there are so many different manufacturers of electronic components, it is difficult to appraise the value of large quantities of scrap without actually breaking down the items, processing them, and then refining and assaying the end result.....'' what's the point of sending a large quantity if they can't deduce what we should actually get? We just really have to go in person to a scrap recycling place that buys only electron waste.

I am not sure...I will be doing the experiments to find out...
