My understanding is that you can retire from the “when attacking” effect of engorge, but you cannot “become engorged” multiple times, as some cards have effects that activate once you become engored But to engorge a unit I would assume you can do as much as you please if the unit is able to attack again. “An "Engorge" ability only activates when the unit possessing it declares its attack. When it does, you may retire one or more of your rear-guards (except the attacking unit). If you retired at least one rear-guard this way, the attacking unit becomes engorged, and it remains in an engorged state until end of turn.” -VG Wiki Nothing about “a unit may only engorge other units once per turn,” but I’ll look into it further.
