Im not surprised that such "spiritually in-tuned" seers, revelators and prophets can be gullible enough to trust such people or govt even, without skepticism. Yes, we need to use our own discernment with confirmation from the Holy Ghost. Ppl lack discernment these days, even apostles.

I am grateful for the continued conversation. If you actually read all of D&C 46, there is great points to Connor's points here. Maybe read all of section 46 to learn better the gifts and that as in verse 30, "He that asketh in the Spirit asketh according to the will of God;" At some point this all works to God's will.

I do agree with what you are saying and I especially agree with what you said about leaders in the church being just as easily deceived as anybody else. We can be tricked and fooled by the experts and especially those in positions of Church leadership. I have had many very spiritual experiences and had many visions and revelations, and I have seen Jesus, heard his voice, felt his touch, but people in church leadership and my family do not believe me. It is like Jesus said, A prophet is not without honor except among his own country and kin. My country, which in this case is the church, and my family say that I am deceived. One leader in the church asked me if I might be deceived by the devil. I told him I would ask the Lord, who is my best friend if he is the devil. So I asked my Lord if he is the devil and he asked me, if I thought he was the devil. I told him , no. Then he asked me why I did not think he was the devil. I told him it was because of the love. I did not think the devil has power to forgive sins and with the him, I do not feel any fear. I only feel love coming from him and he forgave me of my sins. That is when the Lord taught me about being deceived. We are born into a world of lies and deceptions. The fact is that we are all deceived. The difference between me and others is that I am willing to admit that I am deceived. The degree to which we are deceived is in direct proportion to the our ignorance. When people tell me that I am deceived, I readily admit that I am still deceived by a great many things because it still do not know all truth, but I am a lot less deceived in matters of salvation than most people. There was a point in time that I had to weed through all the teachings of my life and determine how much of what I had been taught was true and how much was deception. In making that determination I asked God in the name of Jesus what was true and what is not true and in doing this I discovered many things that I was taught as a child and growing up in the church that are not true at all. One thing I know is true is that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God an that he sits in Heaven with Jesus and is still very much involved in church affairs. On the other hand, I know that the men in current leadership of the church are not just or sanctified men. I have learned that the leadership of the church has been taken over by a secret combination called the Jesuit-Illuminati. Beware of them. If they find out you are a true Christian, they will destroy you. Remember what Jesus said. "Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep's clothing? They come to you looking good on the outside but are ravening wolves inside."

I don’t really care about vindicated proof for any BoM plate “falsehood” accusations. The requirement of Faith is a never ending task that you will need even during the millennium and beyond. The earthly training time is all about faith and Holy Ghost and communication with God. Do you think it will be any different in the eternal immortal future? If so, why else are we exposed to all the training? Then why else do we need proof and vindication for our faith? I get it, it would be nice if we finally turned up on top of it instead of always being the “crazy”. Don’t forget however, the only people mocking and laughing at us are on the other side of the filthy river in that great building, pointing at us and, apparently we are paying attention.

34:55 “Now when we’re talking about spiritual matters, that doesn’t mean we should critically and skeptically evaluate everything. There’s a faith component as well.” I will respectfully disagree by explaining the true doctrine of Faith as plainly as I can. The definition of faith has been perverted 180° since the Bible was published. And we wonder why Christ’s finger never appears to light our stones. Faith has never once meant to believe something beyond your reasoning, or beyond your rational capacity to understand. Faith has always meant to do exactly what you have sufficient reasons to do. If there are no reasons for you to proceed, then persisting in that path is not Faith. It is delusion, and there is a hard line. There is no grey area of Faith. The reason Mighty Faith is difficult and rare is not because few people have the capacity to believe something they don’t understand - something “transcendent.”Every human on earth does this 24/7. Everyone does things each day that there is no justification for, and which they know will not bring the results they desire. Mighty Faith is rare because so few people have the guts to actually do what they have sufficient evidence to do, because it’s inconvenient, unpopular, difficult, or painful. The only “unknown” element in faith is a perfect picture of how events will play out. But there should be no question in your mind whether or not something is true, correct, and yields the greatest benefit. If you can justify this to Heavenly Father before making your move, then you will be acting on Faith. So… conversely, if we were to *only* “critically and skeptically evaluate everything,” and then actually do what that rationale justifies, He would not be able to “be kept from within the veil.”

These latest plates were not on the same route that Lehi traveled...and if you are surprised by their discovery, just wait until the other 10 tribes come back! They have their own records. Do yourself a favor and read the book with the thought of how does this hurt or help those that believe in Christ? No other book mentions Christ as often. Be honest with yourself.
