I finally found THE 18KPLAT episode.! Great find and an even better gift. At 17:00 that is a 44 caliber rim fire cartage. The Henry and Winchester model M1866 use the cartage. They had a part that is called a striker and has 2 firing pins. I did notice it may not have made the cut because it was not in the wrap up.

Great finds Kurt, the plat. & Gold ring is awesome... hope it's your size! The plate is good find, be poud all the same. Would make for a good plate to wear on a diggin belt! I actually made a couple of shovel clips out of PVC; haven't used them yet, but they seem to sit well on the belt. Right now they are held on with some duct tape, but they are very sturdy. I will be sure to include them in my first video coming soon.

Many years ago one of my sons and I were Civil War reenactors at an event near the Shiloh Battlefield and were standing in formation before the event started. Another reenactor ran up and handed our Captain a reproduction belt plate he had found. The Captain scuffed out a shallow trench with his boot, dropped the plate in the hole and kicked the dirt back in place. Maybe someday one of you guys will dig it back up.

That fired rimfire cartridge that brad found may be from an early Henry rifle it looks like the strikes are across from each other and those rifles had dual firing pins, very well could be civil war era. Grats on the gold and thanks for the vids.
