Hi Boris. Thanks for your many informative and entertaining videos! I dissolve my gold in a hydrochloric acid/ bleach solution. Would ascorbic acid precipitate gold from this solution as well? I live in Canada and sodium metabisulphate as well as may other useful chemicals are not available to the average person. So far I have reduced my gold chloride with heat [ no boiling ]. I have retrieved some gold powder from the solution but there seem to be a lot of [ copper salt crystals? ] that I have to rinse to get at the gold. I am worried that some gold is being lost through evaporation. Is this so? Thanks for sharing your considerable knowledge!

yes you can precipitate gold using ascorbic acid from your solution no gold will not evaporate )

I would say it means there are some other metals present in your Aqua Regia. Most likely we are talking about copper
