@@insanity3200 And pay the 10% ebay fees and 2% paypal fees also. It's a wash unless you have a huge or very unique nugget that you can get a large premium for. Better off finding someone to sell to in person, and melting all the small stuff for scrap price.

You can heat up the bit you think is mercury covered gold with a piezo lighter and the mercurry will evaporate. Don't breathe the toxic fumes!

I found a big piece of jasper laying on the top of one of the cross beams for our fence in our garden today... I have no clue how it got there but it was just a light green stone sitting there waiting to be picked up :D Once I get my new car (it's only been 6 months without one -.-) I'm going to go somewhere and try to find some cool stones/gems. I really want to get a cutting station but welcome to being perpetually broke/unemployed/disabled. With all the flour gold you find, you should make yourself a little Miller table. You really need to lay a tarp under your panning station.

I literally just got home from Dahlonega Georgia prospecting all the dirt I found looks very similar even have a couple buckets to pan out did not find very much gold did find a decent amount of black sand there is a lot of mica everywhere

Off topic question, I was panning in a local creek, i was down to a small amount of black sands, some amber sand( not blond but a darker amber color) crystals and tiny silver particles ( about the same size as the sand grains) I couldn’t get the silver stuff to separate from the black sands( used the tap method)since silver doesn’t look that way in nature, the only conclusion i could come up with was that it was very fine mercury. it that possible? I started finding this stuff about a foot/foot and a half down, behind a boulder in a glacier sediment area.A m i just spending too much time staring in a pan and seeing things? ( so far i have found a musket ball and a horse shoe so finding strange things isn’t all that unusual) Thanks in advance for any guidance.

I find mercury once in a while, it was used for years in the separation of gold and mercury right in the rivers, so there's lots of mercury out there.
