Enjoyed the video, for the gems in patdirt hold a bright light first to check for color and transparency. By the way Sapphire come in all colors and when it is red it is ruby. Some black sapphire are cutable star sapphire.
@davidhubert9492 жыл бұрын
Depends on the variety of garnet lol almandine is the most found in the world, so tends to be the cheapest, but when you get to the varieties in grossular and andradite, especially tsavorite lol that material can go for from $20 per carat to $5,000 per carat for facet rough. Hessonite is another one that can go for a decent price for facet rough and specimens.
@smallfries34623 жыл бұрын
price of garnets depends on clarity and color also a few of those at the beginning looked like sappires keep in mind they come in several colors for sapphiresin these colors blue green pink redish orange

Hey Shane, I ordered that awesome magnet that you use and was just curious, it had two plastic discs of different colors on either side. Is that just for packaging /shipping or does it need to be stored with them? Thanks for the help and always great vids!
@Klesh5 жыл бұрын
They're probably for storage, you don't want the magnet to get hit very hard it's very brittle and you can lose an eye if something slams against it. Very dangerous product, but very helpful!

Sapphires are found in yellows, blues, purples, greens, and pinks. However, they need to be heat treated for the colors to become brilliant. In their natural state, sapphires tend to be milky and non-uniform. The exception is the Yogo sapphire from Central Montana. It requires no heat treatment. Incidentally, there are no red sapphires because red sapphires are called rubies.

Sir ...I am a new gold prospecting enthusiast from India...Please inform that what is better for gold prospecting...Panning for gold particles or Nugget hunting using good metal detector??...Please reply.....
@Klesh5 жыл бұрын
It depends on where you're looking for gold. Some places don't have nuggets so it's useless to use a metal detector. Some places do have nuggets, and you'll still want to use a gold pan there becuase there's also going to be fine gold. Many tools of the trade will be collected as a prospector, thanks for watching!

I really enjoy watching your videos, but no doubt your bags are heavily salted for show. I watched your video on a $20.00 bag you bought from Miners Depot. I called Blake and ordered one of the same size bags, and when I got mine, I was very disappointed with the results. When I opened the bag there was a small picker right on top. I was going to order a $50.00 bag but something told me to check it out first. I'm glad I did. It was fun panning anyway. I recovered one picker and four small flakes. It was fun anyway.
@Klesh5 жыл бұрын
That's interesting. I order all my paydirt through a Decoy (someone not me, and even in another state) so Blake couldn't have known it was going to be on my show. So no, the bags are not salted at all for my show.
