I'm in Boulder and my company has every bit of dirt that's been coming out of the ground here the past few years and up until now. It's from all the construction going on around town and we have an agreement to collect it all to raise our property level up. I'm 90% sure it all untouched deep earth and Id love to know if it might have gold in.

This is the second time for me watching this video. I had to after I went up(for work) and found some nice crush samples of deteriorating quartz that was amazing! It had a lot of pyrite but after a fine crushing, some nice gold. More than I found straight panning.

Worked Fairplay back in 78-79 averaged a little over 1 1/4 oz.p/m. Sun-up to sun down 5 days a week. Left Feb. 79 got to cold and got tired of breaking ice every morning.

The value is terrific, never get tired of seeing the golden smile looking back at me from the pan. I've been thinking about going up to Fair Play. I joined the Colorado Gold Prospectors and they own a claim up in beaver creek. Just got a Gold Hog steam sluice... we'll see how that works out. Have fun everybody!

I got extremely lucky on my last bag of paydirt I bought I got a massive flat awesome looking nugget it almost looks like a country or a state I ended up with two guitar picks an awesome autograph which is on everyone but still 😁I got some sort of ancient coin or I think it was an ancient and well over a gram of gold almost close to a gram and a half at least that’s what my scale said really really fun probably I know it was a bonus bag but the most fun I had with a bag of paydirt definitely worth it

The old dredges would reject anything bigger than a couple inches including gold. I've heard a few stories about people finding large nuggets just laying on the tailings. Nice video thanks.

Klesh, just a thought mate. Have you ever tried getting to the end of a pan and using the magnet on the reverse side of the pan to pull away the black sand . It'd make for a good visual and may help with separating good from bad.

My relatives owned rights for mining the London Mine in the 1970's...I was there as a kid. Local Fairplay bar back then, had a radio station manned by the bartender. He would take breaks to man his station.

Back in the 80s a couple of guys I knew would go and rework old mining spots from the 1800s and what I understood they did pretty good. At least that’s what they said they were doing. I thought they had a Meth Lab somewhere 😂. Now that I think about it I’m sure the old miners missed a lot of small gold

$10 for permit - lots of camping and national forest nearby - I think it's a daily pass. Not 100% though sorry can't remember

That Bazooka Gold Trap needs way more water flow going over it. It’s not the size of the gravel you shoveled into it. Once you get the angle and water flow right you will be moving a lot of buckets.
