Sorry about the lateness getting back to you. All I use is a 3 tier stainless steel steamer, And I made the smaller outer holes bigger on one tier then place a stainless steel lid without the handle upside down with cold water on the top. A small shallow breakfast dish To collect the condensed water. Im planning to make a larger one to collect even more. I use either portable gas stove or my bbq to heat the water.

Instead of wasting the fiber boards due to low yield, have a stock pot sitting off to the side with vinegar and salt in it and keep tossing those in there! Just let it sit forever and do its thing, maybe refresh the mixture every once in a while :) it should eventually loosen up off the fiber board with zero effort. Just time

Yeah, I could do that I suppose I've tried lots of things and never works out but will give it a shot thank you for tip.

Here in the states nitric is about $30 a litre if you buy enough to cover shipping. I have started using poor man's nitric to do most the work and save my nitric for refining.
I hear in Canada they use spectracide stump remover as a source of potassium nitrate. Thankfully it's not an issue here. My main problem with distilling my own is the fumes have destroyed every bottle cap I've tried. I bought 6 litres from xlexo for $170 if nothing else I have bottles that are made to hold nitric in the future.

Great video. Did you add sulfuric acid at some point to get rid of lead or did I miss it? Also, does it pay to try and remove the bigger copper heat syncs before incineration and crushing or would you lose some gold that way? Looking forward to your next video!
@prospectorpeteАй бұрын
No I didn't put sulfuric acid in as there was no lead in solution, as I wasn't working with jewelry so there will be no lead in solution. No it doesn't pay to remove copper heat syncs, better to pick them out once you have crunched it, I used to use a dolly pot to crush it and pick it out after,

You need a bigger table or less stuff on it. I am clumsy and just looking at yours makes me nervous.
@prospectorpeteАй бұрын
yeah I'm clumsy too I'm currently doing a set up stay tuned however today there is almost no beakers on table.

I just want to have a price check to compare to what you are paying. I can get these in Melbourne, 50% hydrogen peroxide 5 liters for $48 and 98% sulphuric acid for 5 liters $60, 15 liters $142. Is this expensive?
@prospectorpete24 күн бұрын
No I think its cheap. I pay $90 for 20L of 98% sulfuric

I didnt get in the video how you tried to test for silver. You added distilled water ice cubes. The cubes drop the silver? Would the solution go cloudy if there was silver in it?
@prospectorpeteАй бұрын
Yes making it cold with ice will make silver fall out if there is any there.

Thats all the more reason to process them. I can tell you now, my cut of the gold is worth way more than it cost me to process
