You should dilute your Gold solution with water before you filter it.... Silver chloride is soluble in AR but not water. When the water comes through the filter into your gold solution, most of the silver and likely a lil bit of copper will precipitate out. You wont get to a high purity if you dont. Also you should consider a squirt or two of h2so4 before filtering. This will precipitate out any lead that was alloyed in or snuck in from solder.

Yes, it is sulfuric acid, but other acids require a different procedure

Come on man! You should be doing a stannous chloride test after adding the SMB. It's a strip of paper and 1 drop! The bubbles aren't a good indicator... You might be flushing gold down the drain. First video I saw of you. I was impressed by the resourcefulness but man... Hope you can build up towards some better gear and a more disciplined procedure (gloves!).
