Nice work, the solder on the edges to the ceramics may also contain gold. Maybe clip some off and check it before you toss the lids!

Hello mate. Brick acid is dilute hydrochloric acid, that will do the trick. "Bostik cementone brick acid"

Why is your concentrated H2SO4 almost brown or even black???

I used drain cleaner for my acid. They put additives in the acid, that's where the brown colour comes from.
