Good Morning Ernie, Early morning smelting is a good way to start your day.

@@Lord-Shadow Yes indeed. For me even in the evening 🤣 I actually started mid morning but got side tracked on several issues and changed some things in this process. I’m glad you’re here with us. Take care and have a super day 💪🏻

@@ErnieDionne I've a question for you. I have some quartz ore from my property up here in Montana and was wondering if it would be ok to send you some to have it smelted? I can send you some of the rough ore and ore thats already been powdered up. let me know

Nice work Ernie. You have really got this process down.
@ErnieDionne18 күн бұрын
@@grantlucas2012 Thank you Grant. Here’s a question I’m looking for an answer? I hope you have some insight for me. By using less Potassium Nitrate will it cause the lead prill to be smaller? In my last two smelts, one lead prill weighed 2 grams, the last one weighed less than 1 gram? I normally use 40g of Potassium Nitrate per 100 grams of concentrate and my lead prills would normally weigh between 8g - 12g. The lead prill that weighed 2g I used 20g of Potassium Nitrate, the prill that weighed less than 1g I used 16g of Potassium Nitrate. The reason why I cut down the amount of Potassium Nitrate was to not over oxidize the concentrate. So it seems my lead prills are smaller due to less Potassium Nitrate being used. I know I need to run a test on that, but I was hoping you might have an answer for me. Also, in a text message to me, it was brought up that I may want to use less borax. Would you have any thoughts on this? Thanks Grant, I’ll chat with you later 🤗

Awesome video! I like your smelting set up, shows that you’re very experienced at this. Also, I’m curious if you’ve ever found any obsidian around these parts?

@cwiseguy1328 Thank you for your kind words. I still have a lot to learn. Especially when it comes to ore from other places. My grandsons have found some obsidian around here. I kinda suck at rock hounding lol. I appreciate you being here with us, thank you. Take care .
