@@SilvasSmallMining Thank you Bob! I wore my respirator the whole time. I thought about not worrying it at one moment, and while I was at the door, getting ready to go back into the room with the doors open, I smelt the vapors and decided not wearing my respirator would be a very bad idea, especially at times I could feel my eyes burning just a tiny bit. How was your fishing trip? What did you catch? 🎣

Im curious why you didn't simply melt your ore. Wouldn't the metals all sink to the bottom and turn all the sand into slag on top? Then you'd have a small bead of gold alloy to chemically refine. After you have a bead you would test it with acid to determine the gold content and alloy it with either copper or silver to reduce it to 6k and use nitric acid boils to pull out all the base metals. Then if you wanted to you could use aqua regia to clean it up further.

Zinc will drop everything below it in the reactive series, which means it will drop silver and copper. The gold looks very dirty

@ErnieDionne no worries. I refine gold from ewaste myself. If you have smb, then use that over zinc. Then you can recover the silver separately. Your nugget has a lot of silver in it.

@ErnieDionne if there was silver in the cons when using aqua regia, it would have dissolved but upon cooling would have came out of solution as silver chloride which is a white fluffy substance.
@garrettmillsapКүн бұрын
@@ErnieDionneif you know for sure you have silver in solution you have to use nitric only to dissolve, then drain. Then use aqua regia on cons to get gold. In the solution you drain off, you can use copper metal in the jar to cement the silver from solution

@@garrettmillsap Thank you! Please assist me in this please? I was given some ore from the Comstock Lode. I know it will contain Electrum as I processed this same ore a year ago and got electrum when I smelted it. This time, when I crush it, wash it and pan out the concentrate and roast it, do i just use nitric to wash out the silver, then use aqua regia to extract the gold? In that order?
