A big “What If?” question - What would had happen to the popularity of super hero comics if WWII never had happened? There seems to be a strong correlation of their success to war times.

I enjoyed the much anticipated weekly lesson for year 1946. I was wondering how you would go about collecting back issues in this time period? I find my first issue of a comics - it's batman #36 now I want to read as many of the first 35 as possible. how do I do that ?
