I was at the fight. Kellerman was interviewing Smith, and Kellerman said something along the lines of "you fought very hard" and the crowd responded with a resounding applause for Smith. Smith was noticeably caught off guard at the respect he received from thousands of Canelo fans. Smith acknowledged the cheers with an expression of gratification on his face while looking out to the crowd and nodded.

What's crazy is even though I thought GGG won both fights, Liam Smith seems way better prepared than he was. Smith knows the combinations to use, the timing to use, the ranges to use, where to place your head. Canelo has great head movement but he's not Pernell Whitaker. His is more pre-rehearsed and he traps himself sometimes going to certain head slots. If you know how to do it, you can hit him a lot, he's not Whitaker. But GGG didn't know how to deal with it. He still stole the fights with the jab and the work rate but he didnt execute well at all.
