I knew from the beginning Kate was a bad person when she jumped into bed with her bf's best friend a whole 24 hrs after her bf had died. Only to later find out she was cheating on golden boy the whole time while wiping his memory weekly probably the reason for his mental break. Turns out the school, his mentor (brink) , his gf and his best friend were all using him and betraying him. Not to mention Kate was letting his mind break thinking his brother was dead while he was laying next to him in a lab probably twice a week maybe more. It's too bad cause golden boy seems like a good person and seemed like someone who could of helped take homelander down. Not saying he was as strong as homelander but was definitely up there in the queen mave level I'ld say. And seemed like a good person from the first night they all went out and he was cool to Marie when the rest didn't seem to want to give her the time of day.
