"Radio playin' that forgotten song," indeed. So many memories wrapped up in this, including driving into a new sunrise trying to get back to base before my leave expired; all while this song was on. In the 70's Frisbee sports was big and I was deep into it going into the army. Once, several of my team (including our squad sergeants and Lt.) were on the parade ground playing Frisbee on a cool but sunny Saturday morning. We had those huge but great sounding portable stereos (Ghetto Blaster) and one of the guys had one on playing rock while we were throwing disks. This song came on and suddenly everyone was throwing, making huge and incredible throws and catches. All of the moves we could muster while still being on target. My favorite was throwing over a guys head to have him turn around as it returned and catching it. It was like this song motivated us and it was always a welcome companion on the backside of a 20 hour drive. Like I said, a lot of memories and your song choices is was brought me to your channel.

Just stumbled on your reaction watching Golden Earring clips. Your reaction is truyly unbiased, and honest, thanks for that. GLobally underrated band, THEY where the the ones opening shows for Led Zeppelin when these went on their first USA Tour, Golden Earring was doing their 4th. They been around before Rolling Stones, their first no1 hit was not getting 1 beacuse of The Beatles. Had Aerosmith and KISS opening for them. Jimi Hendrix personally asked Rinus Gerritsen, the bassplayer to come play for him. Later The Who asked their drummer, Cesar Zuiderwijk to become The Who's drummer. Everybody thought they where from the USA, singer sounds American, but they are from The Netherlands. Guitarplayer George Kooymans founder of the band, together with bassplayer Rinus founded the band when they where just 12 years old. They oficcially disbanded when I believe end of last year, George was diagnosed with ALS-Disease

I was born in ‘73 as well and my friend our generation had THE BEST music ever. We had 70s, 80s & 90s. Every every style, every race, every sex we had blues, rock, rap, hip hop, r&b, metal. We had all female bands etc. You name it we had it and rocked it all. Whatever mood you were in there was music for it. There was talent needed back then. Those of us who play instruments were introduced by these bands. When we heard an awesome guitar solo it inspired us to learn it. Even young kids today cover these old songs because they were awesome. Nowadays it’s a music machine w no guitars, no intros , guitar solos, drum solos etc. the beat starts and the singing and it’s over. We had black groups w awesome music and dance music, we had white bands, Hispanic bands etc and we all listened to it. There were black men that sang the blues and we had white men that sang the blues. No one cornered the music market so to speak. There were bands that were blended. Take The Band for instance. They had a song called “The Weight”. They did a show that featured a black band called The Staples Singers and let me tell you if you want a soulful song in a 70s vibe hit it up. We had Hootie and The Blowfish which featured a black front man. We didn’t get bent out of shape over race issues. It was music. We could all be one while listening to music. Nowadays it seems it’s one or the other which is a shame. Love your reactions my friend. Keep em coming. .

Barry Hay (lead singer) got to meet Brenda Lee a couple of years ago in the program Ilses Veranda. Ilse (Dutch singer) invites people to her house in Nashville and tries to let the guest biggest music dream come true! Ilse and Barry sang Radar Love for Brenda and she loved it :) You should check it out!

This is one of my favorite songs. This video is the single version of around 5:00 minutes. The album versions is 6:26, and that missing minute and a half adds a LOT of dynamics with a low, slow, smooth interlude before it picks back up. That's the part where you realize how bad you were speeding so you can back it off. Then it kicks back in and you speed worse than you were before! Headphones are a must on this one.

Great! This was an old broadcasting from German Television, a show for the teens called "Disco". They had lots of rockbands AND disco-acts from that era doing playback or sometimes live performances. Brings back strange memories.

I suggest you follow this up with Golden Earring's "Twilight Zone." Unlike this tune, it is much grittier and down and dirty. I think you'll dig it. Oh, and don't forget "Lazy." Cheers, bruv....
