Thanks for the video! I like the countdown. I never walked in on my mom & whatever boyfriend she had but I could hear them. Awkward! However my daughter walked in on her father & I. She was 4. She pointed at us and said “ I know you’re wrestling in here!” She was so cute!

Courtney, love to follow along with you on the episodes. I especially like the dual storylines working in each episode. Why did Blanche's mammy call her Blanche Marie Hollingsworth when it was later said her initials spelled BED with a middle name of Elizabeth? And I've always wondered how the girls can see their driveway from the kitchen window when shots of the exterior prove the driveway is in the front yard. The kitchen window looks out into the backyard. And why do all the girls walk out of the first bedroom closest to the living room when we know only one person actually used that bedroom, assuming it was Dorothy's bedroom? No, I never walked in on my parents having sex. They must have been fairly active, though, my Mom had 4 kids with about a year in between each one.

I def think the writers realized the BED would be a good joke and just didn't care. I get it, a sitcom needs to stay funny. I totally agree about the window/driveway. Like cleaaaarly nowhere near each other. I think I am very glad for you that you never walked in on your parents ;)

Yeah the writers clearly never kept a written out summary of the girls families and histories and contradicted themselves time after time for whatever fit the scene/joke

One of my favorite episodes is "Wham, Bam, Thank You Mammy." Originally Esther Rolle was asked to play Mammy but had another commitment. I think the episode might have been a little better with Ms.Rolle in the part.

Oh my gosh. I am so sorry to hear all that. Being new to a city is challenging enough but then having to evacuate and then family being further away, that is a lot to carry.

I liked That Was No Lady I liked the part when Dorothy turned up the volume when Sophia was listening to her walkman. I also liked the speech she have Dorothy about self respect. Charlie's Buddy episode that guy started to fall for Rose.

While binge watching The Golden Girls I was wondering about the “Wham Bam Thank You Mammy” episode. Seeing that the very end was left to question, is it possible that the Bonanza Musicbox was given to Big Daddy by another guy?

Thank You so much for the reply, I love these videos! What was supposed to be just a 1/17 Betty White B-Day celebration ended up becoming a binge and repeat. I’ve come across this episode many times and it just dawned on me that Mammy’s MusicBox played a ballad-like “Stardust” which makes sense coming from a classic female like Mammy. I’m just asking myself what woman would really want to get their man a Bonanza MusicBox and even if they went ahead and bought it for him anyway, what woman would go out of their way to get that back? It’s so interesting that this episode ends on such an ambiguous note because Blance & Mammy genuinely have no idea who gave him the Bonanza MusicBox. Mammy was already a secret lover and surely is not the only one. As a man myself who finds other men attractive I just find that Bonanza MusicBox better coming from an “adult boy type” that typically pleases a “Big Daddy” type of man who would never let that secret “come out” under any circumstances, especially the old-fashioned type. These are the reasons why I believe that Blance & Mammy were left at the end of the episode wondering like the rest of us who’ve seen S6E5 but we’ll never know for sure. It reminds me of the Radiohead breakthrough video “Just” from 25 years ago and has never revealed the reason for its conclusion. Keep up the good work and Stay Golden! 😀 P.S. Even though Mammy is helping Big Daddy cheat on his wife, immorality aside she’s still a woman and thus she can “show her face” to Blanche even in a stormy situation like this. No man could/would ever show their face in this same scenario and makes more sense as to why the person who got Big Daddy the Bonanza MusicBox would never come back to reclaim it no matter how bad they’d want it back 🤠

I guess when I think music box I think, young girls and getting like their ears pierced for the first time and needing someplace to put them- I always thought it was a funky kinda momento.

I always thought Dorothy knowingly having an affair with a married man was out of character. Even if it was early on in the series. She was cheated on, she knew what she was doing to Glen's wife, even if the wife didn't know.

Sometimes characters will let their emotions get in the way of their morals. People all the time say one thing but once they get a whiff of a exciting feeling they do it regardless of their morals so sometimes people are hypocrites. That's my best explanation

Also to add when watching clip compilations there are so jokes where Dorothy acts hypocritical so it is seen that she can at hypocritical at times

The Truth Will Out is one of my LEAST favorite episodes!!! Kirsten was so rude and demanding. I saw the qualities in the episode when Rose has a heart attack (can't remember specific episode but I know it was Season 7)

I was thinking the same thing that episode was called Home Again where Rose had the Heart Attack at the HS Reunion..Kirsten was cold to the girls on that episode she did not improve with age at all from Season 1 to that Season 7 episode!

I feel the B plot for That Was No Lady shouldn't have been there. You can't tell me neither one of the girls had concerns about Glenn. All three of them have their own wisdom and would have noticed the obvious signs Dorothy missed. That would have been an interesting conversation prior to his confession.
