▪ Sophia constantly nagged Dorothy about not going on enough dates (she acts like the woman was never married!), and then she (Sophia) sabotaged and overly criticized many of the dates Dorothy did go on. 🙄 ▪ What Ted did to Dorothy around 9:48 was so incredibly insulting! He deserved what she did to him afterwards before leaving the restaurant.😀
@tonyb09042 жыл бұрын
I hated how Sophia interfered in Dorothy's sex life and then acted like it was no big deal. The prom date episode with John N ended well, but Sophia's initial interference was understandably enraging, and I saw D's mindset yesterday's news or not. I've done my share of what ifs over the years, some of which may not have had much better outcomes if I'd responded differently, but who knows? Most of my past( until a few years ago) didn't seem to have ' the Butterfly Effect' level of severity: I didn't have to deal with kids with a violent streak too much, the child abuse yeah when I was young, but the random acts of violence, not so much. I miss this show, but all the characters had their flaws and strengths, Rose annoyed me periodically, but Sophia aggravated me more for the above reasons. To be continued

Another episode with a memorable date of Dorothy's was when Hal Linden played John Norretti who previously was supposed to be her prom date in high school when they were young. I love that when they actually go on a date after all those years that they dine at a theme restaurant that's all medieval, and that the minstrel there going around with the guitar is singing the theme from Gilligan's Island; a really odd thing to sing at such a place. Hits my funny bone every time I see that episode. Also: remember when character actor John Fiedler (Piglet's voice in the 1970 Disney Pooh movie & shorts) played strangely irresistible Eddie, whom Sophia had set Dorothy up with as a blind date? I loved when he says to Dorothy, shortly after meeting her, "Well ... I guess I have to feed ya". :D lol

If my roommates and I were that mean to each other on a daily basis, there would be fists flying and overturned tables! The insults! The insinuations! Love it.

Not too long ago I was in the hospital, it was night time and I was feeling home sick. I took the TV remote and began browsing the channels looking for something to watch. I was ecstatic when I found a marathon of the GG and suddenly I wasn't feeling home sick any more.

Same thing happened to me when I was sick with COVID. At the end of second week I was worn out feeling bad lonely and very depressed, suddenly the girls came on. I felt like family had visited me, and didn't feel so. Alone any more.

This was a great show. Always was and it never gets old. I remember all the times I watched it with my grandmother and parents in the late ‘80s and ‘90s
