It's the gold standard of ratios! A golden ratio, also known as a golden section, golden mean, and divine proportion is related to fibonacci's sequence of numbers.

This video saved me. I have a short presentation to do on the golden ratio, and I was trying to find examples of it's use in modern design, be it film, media, architecture etc. So when you mentioned how the iPod uses the golden ratio, I read up on it, and saw that it indeed does. I go everywhere with my iPod, so when I go into college tomorrow, I'm going to slide mine onto the the table in my presentation. =)

Technique aspects are focused on multivariate analysis and processing of 6-sounds theme. I used gold and silver ratio between pitches. I always work on pure frequencies, before I start writing. In addition, in the middle part of this particular work, I transformed a melody by connecting each pair of sounds, and make chords with sums of their frequency.

I am working on a new architecture design. When the golden ratio started popping up all over my calculations and measurements. I got excited, I was like wow, this ratio is like PI, weird yet really cool. Now I am big fan of the golden ratio. The golden ratio needs to taught in schools more like PI. For instance Decagons: the ratio of the radius of an equilateral decagon and its segment length are the golden ration ... Someday I would love to explore/teach about this magical ratio.

“Tools” is an American metal band pervasively known for incorporating the Fibonacci Sequence in their musical time signatures and lyric patterns, 9/8 to 8/8 etc…I’d like to explore their ironic use of the sequence in their song called “Lateralus,” in the opening lyrics to the song the Fibonacci Sequences were embedded in the numbering of syllables, making the inherent nature of the Fibonacci Sequence applicable beyond the parameters of music, but into writing, poetry and other sorts of linguistic usage. Fibonacci Coriolis Effect: There’s a strong correlation between biological structures and the physics of motion, would “electromagnetism” be an inappropriate metaphor? Because although electricity and magnetism are intertwined, the former is an electric charge and the latter is a force and repel, and it became “electromagnetism” after Maxwell’s juxtaposition of their inner mechanisms in his unified equation. Fibonacci Sequence are in the Coriolis Effects, the sequences are in the non-transparent symmetry of the wind, synonymous to the propagating patterns in pineapple pine-cones outer layers. There’s pairs of spirals widening to the left and right where the numerical systems are found, seems prevalent in the symmetry of Botany. Equivalent to objects in motion on the earths surface that curve in relation to the revolution, Northern Hemisphere deflecting to the right and the Southern Hemisphere deflecting to the left.

When we did not understand it we assumed the world was chaos around us, primitive even, but as we see the concise, formulas, and purposeful design of the world it appears to become orderly and we are enlightened and awake to see that nothing is random...all is in order! How beautiful it is to see that order has created the appearance of chaos. As above so shall it be below...

"Very Nearly", "Roughly Speaking", "Approximately"... You can't claim to have completed a Jigsaw by using brute-force and glue to get the pieces to fit - And you can't claim that these 'Golden Ratios' are somehow miraculously prevalent in nature by shaving off, or adding on a couple of standard deviations. As Humans, we are 'hard-wired' to find patterns in everything! So maybe let's not deliberately go chasing after these coincidences, however mesmerising...!

The music sounds creepy because he missed the most important role of the golden ratio in music. The golden ratio number phi, is the increment used to separate each half step on the piano or strings. C-C#, C#-D.

Mona Lisa in the video doesn't fit. It's just a line arbitratily placed at some point in the face horizontally and split at the golden ratio but hits nothing at the point where it's split. You can split any distance in this ratio just like you could split it 60/40 or 70/30. The point is that two separate distances have to be in the ratio, not that you split one at some arbitrary point.
